RE: What did Jesus look like?
Furthermore, Jesus was a very common name in ancient times, it appears the name Christ was first mentioned by Moses.
There was Jesus Son of Nave (Nun in Egyptian, he was Joshua who took over from Moses and the Ark of Covenant.

There was also Jesus Son of Sirach

These are just a couple that are recorded.

RE: What did Jesus look like?
my colleague assures me that these Masters are as active now in the world as they have ever been; its just that we dont realise it. They can be with body or without at their will.
I hope this isn't going too far off thread but whilst reading these posts I have been reflecting on the time I have spent in the ashram of my teacher, Amma. You see, many people, myself included, believe Amma to be an avatar (we have had in the past a long long thread about avatars, so I don't particularly want to repeat myself - pace Venetian !) In other words we believe Her to be at the same level as Jesus when He was in the body, ie God in human guise. What I really want to convey is the feeling, the conviction, I have had at many times in the ashram, that being there (and believe me, simply being there alters one's level of consciousness to an enormous degree) and being a devotee of Amma's - or any of the embodied masters - duplicates the experiences of Jesus' disciples. In other words, being around Amma is like it must have been to be around Jesus. Therefore, speaking from that experience, I would say that it would be entirely within the realms of possibility for Jesus to have said that his feet hurt - but in fact he wouldn't have had to experience the pain if he cared not to. I'm getting myself into a bit of a twist here, but if a Master says something which seems to confirm His/Her humanity, IMHO this would only be to, in some way, put his followers at their ease. One young 'minor' guru I met who had hurt her thumb told me 'Pain is there but it doesn't matter.' Ramana Maharshi suffered from a - is it called a sarcoma? - on his arm which would have been unbearably painful to you or me, but he referred to it as 'a visitor which has taken up residence on my arm.'
One thing I will say, from my experiences of being around Amma, is that a Master is incredibly magnetic; their energy fills any room they enter. You know when you are in the presence of one.
Rambling again, my apologies...
Love as ever

Dear Sunanda
Thank you for sharing.
Jesus rebuked the Apostles for being intoxicated by his energy does Amma do the same?

RE: What did Jesus look like?
Spirit comes in forms we understand
If you saw the Christ energy appear in true form in your room would you know thats is him
So it would come in the form you understand his energy to be
And if you believe in Buda it may come in that form or may be a fairy angel even maybe you
For all is one and come in many forms as we relate to it
For Christ has gone but his energy lives and lives in all things in the god energy
As we all do
RE: What did Jesus look like?
Am not too keen on all the pictures on that site, Sol - not the 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th which are IMHO yuk. (The 4th and 5th ones, Nada and Sanat Kumara, are appalling copies from Church Universal and Triumphant - the webmaster should have just gone ahead and used the true copyright material and have done with it! :D)
So Jesus' appearance - in terms of his actual appearance in that body, we cannot know. Feelings will differ, but David Anrias, a clairvoyant Theosophical artist, pencilled this drawing of the Master as he felt Jesus still was at that time, the 1920s:
