RE: What did Jesus look like?
I believe in Jesus - the Apostle of God. An evolved soul who remains with us. I also believe in Buddha, Mohammed and Krishna.
I think it was Krishna who said "In every age I come"...[Bhagavad Gita]
If we truly embrace Jesus [as an Atavar] then so also must we accept Krishna, Buddha, and Mohammed......
How we perceive any of them to have been in the physical form, I believe, will depend on what we are comfortable with.
The light which shines forth from these great teachers is reflected in our own souls. These Guides speak seldom - they encourage us to look within to the Christ Consciousness where we will find and recognise our own truths - isn't this the reason for meditation?
As long as there is genuine love and respect to encourage the Light to shine in the world and in our lives, it doesn't really seem to be important what physical aspects that Light adopts. As we all have different names - I am Mum, Gran, Sister, Glen, auntie etc., so too does the Divine have different aspects and names.
All Gods are One God and All Goddesses are One Goddess.
RE: What did Jesus look like?
Hi Garther,
I'm studying the Gita right now in fact. Krishna there isn't a person (though I am not going into the subject of whether or not there ever was an embodied person called Krishna) - but in the Gita 'Krishna' is a kind of archetypal figure for the One, the All, or God. In fact many sayings in the Gita are almost word-for-word the same as those of Jesus in the NT.
To me, then, Krishna in the Gita and many of the sayings of Jesus are not about the person (such as Jesus talking about himself) but they are expressing the word of the All, the One.
A rough translation from the Gita -
When righteousness declines, and wickedness is strong, in the dying of and age, when a new age comes along; That is when I rise again, and light my Flame to shed illumination for the Sons of men.
So to me Krishna is the same spirit (I don't mean mediumistic spirit, but spirit generally) as Jesus, and vice-versa. Same words, from the same ultimate source IMO.
RE: What did Jesus look like?
Thank you! Those are my opinions in a nut shell. It has been many years since I studied the Bhagavad Gita - being a child of the 60's etc., but it moved me very deeply.
Thank you for sharing that.
Much love
