i have to say, alarm bells always ring with me when i see christians staking claims on righteous living.

your statement would indicate that only those that believe in God and so, do his will, are righteous, inferring that those that do not believe in God, cant do his will and so cannot be righteous.
i think all of us that, as you say, lead good, considerate, moral lives can be considered righteous. i havent found a dictionary definition that claims righteousness as a christian thing. and certainly no mention of following the ten commandments in order to be righteous.

Moralman - I was interested in your reference to the Catholic Church under various popes "committing certain wrongs" - a slight understatement when looking at the history of the Cathar Crusades, in which mercenaries were used against the so-called heresy in the South of France. In the name of religion, persecution, torture and mass executions were carried out - and the underlying motives were power and wealth. The Inquisition was developed to 'gently persuade' sinners to recant [:'(]
When we look at world events, how much has changed? The same intolerance, hatreds and persecution abound - and this is talking generally now. A world of 'ethnic cleansing'.
Coming back to Catholicism, you state that it is "an advancing religion in terms of modernisation" - yet the new Pope has confirmed the policy which denies the use of condoms to the millions in Africa who need to be educated to use them to prevent AIDS. please tell me what's modern about that? I would agree that owning up and compensating victims of paedophila on an industrial scale is admitting the truth of what has been going on in the recent past - that must be progress I suppose ( and I personally know victims of this abuse by members of the church ).
I suppose what I am trying to say, when reading your comments about Muslims, is something along the lines of ' judge not that ye be not judged', and I entirely agree with the sentiments so lyrically expressed by Vortex.
I also have a lot of time for Sufism, the mystical arm of Islam.
Returning to the Shining Ones in your original post, I have now looked at the three websites you linked, and did found little substance in them. It could well be that 'shining ones' refers to beings in their spiritual 'lightbody' state, and research into that state of being seems valuable to me - for example, the work of Drunvalo Melchizidek, and the Flower of Life meditation, taking one into the Sacred Space within the Heart. If other threadweavers have links along those lines, please share.

I would like to respond to the following people.........

Although I am a Church going Catholic I never stated that only Christians will be saved.
I believe that the good people of any religion and the righteous outside of religion can be saved.
All people who do good and believe good are following God but in a different way.
I believe that alot of people who don't call themselves Christian are actually Christian without knowing it.........one day hopefully God will show them the truth.
For what its worth I don't like "holier than thou" Christians who say that only people who have the label Christian will be saved.........God looks after his own and his reach extends far beyond the Church.
Regardless of my comments I still see the Catholic Church as the most valid Moral instructor of the masses.
As far as the 10 commandments are concerned.........With or without God they are Moral instructions of simplicity that anyone can understand.
If the whole World followed the 10 commandments we'd have World peace.
After 2012 in the New World I believe that the 10 commandments will be the pillar of law that we shall all agree on.
I believe that the 10 commandments were authored by the Father our God himself.

I understand your reasoning about the wrong-doings of some within the Church.
I think that contraception should be legalised to a degree but I can understand the Church's valid point that sex should only happen within the law of a perfected marital union in which two people get to know each other over a long period of time and when they realise they have made the right decision then they should get married.
I thank you for reading the links yes there is a decent amount of substance in those written articles.
I believe that the "Shining ones" are basically us in our perfected Higher self form.
When the resurrection occurs we will be transformed into our Higher self body of Light which is the birth-right of all those who have evolved and followed their perfected form.
Our Higher self is the son of God made in his image and because we have followed it with sincerity we shall become it.

no one thing person is any better or worse than you in that there is no right or wrong there is only what feels right and true in you in that space is your own ten commandments in that you know in what you say and do and how that feels in you and in all the reasons and excuses are the mind justifying your actions when you walk out side your integrity
Walk in love of the fear that stops you walking in your integrity in the knowing that in the indoctrinations of social programming of your ten commandments that dont fit your ten commandments for every ones commandments are not the same and are in there purpose here and actions on this plain
