I realise that the New Age teachings can be progressive but there are a few things that I don't totally agree with.
Evil is Evil...........there is alot of evil that exists today that will NOT be apart of the New World-read the newspapers and see all of the wickedness that exists.
Yes you are right in the sense that religious men opposed Jesus but they were hypocrites in every sense of the word..........the Church has promoted Jesus and his ideas.
Yes there are fundamentle Christians and branches of fundamentle Christianity but that doesn't make the Church bad.
If the Christian church is not going into the New World then what about Islam?
There is a specific fundamentalist religion which I believe has caused more misery and destruction than any other religion on the planet..........will they survive?
There is NO way that a religion that represents darkness and backward ways is going into the New World.
The New World will be Light and therefore darkness cannot enter it.
I respect other belief systems and other ideologies but there are some things that I don't respect.
Its not up to humanity how the future of the World of the World will be.
God will see his elect(those who are good and follow the dictates of their Higher self) and will allow them to inherit the Earth.
Perhaps we will not need a Pope as we will have all ascended but whether there is one or not is irrelevent.
We will all be in our full divinity by that time anyway and we will be the Sons and Daughters of God..........the race of Light known as the Shining ones.
I think that the root core religion is listening to our future form-the Shining Higher self.

Moralman - thanks for starting this thread, as it is a vital subject for our understanding of where we are all heading. Personally I avoid subscribing to a religion as this can impose limiting beliefs, amongst other things - however I honour all belief systems because they are all but facets of the whole - unity, God.
The ascension concept can be very mind-boggling, so simple explanations are what I find easiest - such as the 'novel' approach of publications like Celestine Prophecy. However I recently found a description which purports to explain what the heck is going on, which I like, so here it is as my contribution for your discernment. It comes from Mark Blausten of the School of Energy Healing in their latest newsletter:
"I want to explain something about the cosmology of the times in which we are living and how this directly influences our experience that we are having now. As you all know, our planet Earth orbits around the sun and takes one year, 365 days, to do one orbit - a complete cycle. In a very similar way our entire solar sysem orbits around the the centre of the galaxy. You can think of the Milky Way galaxy as a big spiral or a vortex. It enegetically functions in a way quite similar to a gigantic chakra, a vortex that draws energy towards it's centre and energy comes out from the centre point. The conscious being that is our planet Earth is called Gaia in honour of the goddess. In the Mayan tradition the conscious being that is our Milky Way galaxy is referred to as Hunab Ku. The centre of the galaxy is the place from which light and consciousness emanate and, as such, is the location in time and space where the impulse to create the life that we are comes from.
So, our entire solar system is orbiting around the centre of the galaxy, and to do an entire orbit takes approximately 26,000 years. This is a number that some of you may have come across and it's also referred to in the Egyptian and Vedic (yogic) traditions as well as the Mayan.
As we orbit the centre of our galaxy there are clouds of dust and gas in space that filter or inhibit the fullness of the light reaching our solar system for most of this 26,000 year cycle. However, there is what is called the photon belt, or photon band, which is an area in space where there is nothing obscuring the path of light as it travels from the centre of the galaxy and to our solar system and planet Earth. In these phases of our cycle we get a 'direct hit' of the light from the centre of the galaxy as we quite literally emerge out of the darkness. Each transition through the photon belt lasts about 2,000 years and we then go back into relative darkness for around 11,000 years before coming back into the light for another 2,000 years and so it goes on.
Now our solar system started to come out from behind these cosmic clouds and started to enter into the photon belt in 1987 for this next cycle of 2,000 years. This event was called the Harmonic Convergence. The process of our solar system coming fully into the photon belt takes 26 years to complete. At the Millenium we were exactly halfway through this process which means that for six months of the year we were in the photon belt. If you imagine that our solar system spins like a dinner plate and it slowly comes into the 'spotlight' of the photon belt. Each year we are in the belt for two weeks longer. Our transition into the photon belt will be complete at winter solstice 2012 which, I am sure, is a date which is in quite a lot of people's consciousness. Opinions vary about the exact date because of the different calculations that have been done but that is the most popular one and so it will do as reference point.

I have read the Quoran and I try to respect other people religions.
However if we are looking at the situation of the New World moving on from religion then we cannot just state that Church Christianity is only guilty of religious crimes and must pay its "karmic" debt.
If that is the case then the same rule applies to Islam.
Islam is just as responsible for religious crimes as any other religion-even more so historically.
Fanaticism isn't something that is a major issue issue universally in Christendom(except for a few fundamentle branches) but it is a problem in Islam.
Look at the treatment of women in Islamic countries, terrorism and the intolerance of advancement and other religions in the Islamic nations.
I only pointed out that if Christianity as we know it it is going to dissapeare then we cannot exclude Islam now can we?
My condemnation of fundamentle Islam is no bearing on good Muslims-the righteous of all labels will ascend but I am just making a point.
