RE: Spirituality Forum Vegetarianism Poll
Firstly a reply to Holistic; - this posting discussion is just that – it is not anything official to do with HP or its moderators, therefore there are no boxes to tick or circles to cross… I didn’t realise that such a thing could be set up officially with the moderators… but to be frank – I am not interested in going that far. This is a social discussion forum on the variable subject of Spirituality– and this particular discussion is about peoples opinions and attitudes to vegetarianism and diet - in reflection to spirituality… As the other postings reveal. If you would like to put your opinion on the subject for others to read then carry on, but don’t expect it to go any further than as above described. Perhaps the inclusion of the word ‘poll’ in the title misled you, such was not my intention – I have now changed the topic title…
And to Moonfeather; - I must confess that I don’t use sun and positive energy to purify water, I dare say some folk do – but not me. My own opinion is that sunlight will make no difference energetically to water in any way. In relation to the topic, I drink liquids as pure as I can afford and less and less now go for anything with chemicals, flavourings, preservatives, artificial sweeteners etc… For example – as I once used to love Barrs Iron Brew – I would buy it regularly years ago. Until Nat (my wife) told me that its energy was virtually black because of chemicals used in its manufacture, so too were ‘certain popular varieties’ of Coke and fizzy drinks… Few modern, mass marketed drinks are bright in energy. Mineral waters are – but there are some far better than others. I rarely drink alcoholic drinks either as I dislike the effect of the alcohol to my consciousness; however – some alcoholic drinks are relatively bright in energy too.
In respect of creating ‘specially charged’ water to drink – I definitely know that thought makes a tremendous effect on water. Imagine as though water has an energetic, magnetic quality and records everything that it touches on a subtle level; when thought is directed to it – the water records the vibrations of the thoughtforms. Thus we see the results exemplified with that japanese doctor that were published in Kindred Spirit a year or so ago. ‘The memory of water’ principle – which is the subtle basis for homeopathy… Water is affected by thought – and because of this we will never see laboratory conducted tests to prove homeopathy works – as in such tests the people that hold scepticism on the matter will obviously affect the results. Your word ‘joy’ and the reiki symbol is just the anchors for your thoughtform to the water. The same result would manifest in the opposite direction if you used the application of the word ‘illness’ and the inclusion of a symbol that you would represent something bad, evil or unhealthy…
You are what you think…

RE: Spirituality Forum Vegetarianism Poll
You are what you think - I like that, Sol. The ultimate truth. More true than “You are what you eat.”
As explained above it is hard for me to enter into this discussion as virtually every present veggie was presumably given meat to eat to begin with, in childhood? So it must be a bit hard to stop eating meat? Is it like withdrawal? But I would not know. I just never, strangely, ate it apart from the 5 months I have mentioned. I liken meat to soil 😀 - as something I could not dream of eating now.
It's also correct, IMHO, to put this subject under the Spirituality forum, as it is a part of that path. But to repeat, fanaticism is the worst thing of all, and I couldn't care at all what others eat. I once ate a bite of steak just to show I am not a fanatic. 😀 But then I also shaved off my beard that day on a jokey impulse and regretted it, so I guess I was just in a Monty Python mood.
Ouch, but another anecdote is that I was once in Cowboy country and there was literally no eating place for 70 miles apart from a bar, and we had not eaten all day - I was starving, and the only thing on the menu was a meat burger. That was very interesting as I did eat it and then forgot about it, but hours later my body rejected it. So my body knew what it wanted. Interesting.
It is interesting that the subject of water has come up. I live between three homes which is a bit frustrating as I never have all my books with me. But there is some essential research out there on water – totally amazing. I am sure someone else can find the titles. But along the lines than water can be “dead” or “alive” and the shape of the water-course is vital.
That is another thread, and so is this … if someone can think of the book I have at another address, it also exhibits a whole new view upon physics. For example, that fish swim because of the different “pushes” different water temperatures give to their bodies… something totally unknown to present-day physics.
As one other side-subject, I used to be laissez-faire and didn’t give any thought to eating organically. But then I worked on a farm in Montana and goodness! – organic carrots for example were a totally different food to non-organic. Non-organic veggies are almost not food at all. I also do sometimes eat eggs, and organic are, again, a totally different food to non-organic. They actually have taste, which helps!

RE: Spirituality Forum Vegetarianism Poll
I have been Vegetarian for most of my adult life. I have 'strayed' from this a couple of times, mostly because I didn't really know what I was doing and survived on cheese and nuts and put on massive amounts of weight and suffered from migraines! Even then I could never eat anything off the bone. But I knew in my heart of hearts I was never meant to eat flesh.
I have been working on my sprituality for the last 10 years and feel as my vibrations get higher that I really don't want anything to do with meat, fish, fowl and now dairy and eggs. So, since last year I have been Vegan and because of the internet have managed with help from other Vegans to have a balanced diet. I feel much lighter, not physically but also mentally and spiritually.

This shouting of people i am vegetarian but i eat fish causes so many problems for me, i have to have meals supplied to me in the environments that i work in, they know i am a veggie, yet they send me fish to eat, as they think veggies eat fish aaaagggghhhhhhh, too many arguments have i had with chefs about this,
I understand if you only eat fish, then you are known as a "Pescatarian" IS THIS TRUE??
if it is will people please start using it.
The other day it was freezing cold and i was outside teaching for the whole day, the meat eaters got as much hot stew as they could eat, at lunch time what did i get??
COLD Cheese & Onion Pasty, apple, orange, cherry fruit cake, wagon wheel (oh so NOT Veggie) it just simple isn't fair.[sm=angry-smiley-030.gif][sm=banghead.gif][sm=angry-smiley-030.gif][sm=banghead.gif]
I am a veggie for spiritual reasons ans it gets my goat when people do not take you seriously and make fun of the inconvenience, with comments like, "oh we tried to get veggie sausages but our supplier doesn't sell them so soory about that, here have fried bread, beans and scrambled egg instead", " Just pick the meat out", "there is plenty of grass outside" and so on.
Venting again, as i have to do so often trying to educate people.

RE: Spirituality Forum Vegetarianism Poll
I have to say, I am not Vegetarian, but I don't understand why it is so difficult for people to make a decent Vegetarian dish? And why it has to be an issue?
There are sooooooooooooooooooo many lovely Vegetarian dishes one can make...
And I am not only speaking about people cooking meals at home but caterers too... (done catering, so know...)
