RE: So much darkness?
Dear All,
Please be polite. (Mod hat on.)
Speaking as a member, whilst I think that some channellings do make sense and some do impart wisdom and so on, some do not. Speaking as a one-time trance medium, I know that some channellings are influenced by the mind of the channeller, so one can receive religious dogmas and fears of the channeller in the message. This is what I believe, happened with my husband. One cannot escape one's own mind, even in trance, and what David says make sense - search before you believe any channellings. Don't dismiss the searching aspect of spirituality, even if that leads along a scientific pathway.
I know longer engage in trance work, because I cannot guarantee the quality of the messages that come through. This talk of 'others' who come from some sort of 'netherworld' generates fear, and that is not right.
Magpie - I am quite certain that your channellings do not fall inside this category.
I say this with love and friendship.
Love,
Patsy.

RE: So much darkness?
On channelled books, which in the 'modern' era go back to 1845, basically when I embarked on my 'search for truth I went through a load of them - Ohaspe, the Allen Kardec book, the book my 1800s medium Stainton Moses, even The Book of Mormon and on and on -titles I now forget. Most of them seemed very reasonable and gave a complete worldview ... but the difficulty entered in since they all differ in that worldview greatly enough that either none or only one of them could be 'truth' - they just contradict too much. One example - the 'spirits' of Stainton Moses disagree with reincarnation. (The Mahatmas of Theosophy wrote that the whole book came from his unconscious.) So there's a terrific amount of contradiction that can't be explained by 'well it's just another way of seeing things'. IMHO!
Then, more recently, I don't see any difference between such books of the 1800s and, say, 'Conversations With God' and all the others - Seth, and an almost endless list. These too all tend to severely contradict each other. And the universe is either one thing at the end of the day or another.
