Of course. ‘Modern’ spiritualism began around 1845, and I am not knocking it as a whole; but along with it from Day 1 came whole spiritualistic books about the End Times or about how special the receiver of the message is. It’s normal fare, and for some reason it always happens.
For example, there was the Book of Mormon, or Ohaspe. Look that up if you wish. Etc, etc. On and on.
I suspect that Hugo can add here about how things of such nature go back far more than 150 years, so I will leave that to him.
The point is that these ‘messages’ are always there as a kind of background noise.
They do not come from where people believe they do. I have entered so many threads on this by now! So many threads that I can see it is time to give up, and all must live within their own illusions. I do not by that mean any disrespect to anyone and I truly mean that. God knows, it took me enough years to figure this all out for myself. So I do respect you all, just all of you.
But if I had to summarise into a few words I would say:
Don’t believe all these ‘messages’. Get scientific about how you examine them. Look at the history of such messages. For centuries people have been led astray by these over and over again. Why should you join them?
Needless to say, if actual dates are mentioned, these never turn out. It is more normal to say that ‘things are at a crux and things will be determined this year in which consciousness will rise’. Well, who can disagree with that? I do agree that consciousness is rising in this world yearly. It doesn’t take a prophet to predict it.
This kind of thing has arisen now on HP all the time I have been here, so as of now and this thread I think in future I must give it a rest and let people get on with it. My hope is that from time to time some note may be arisen noting back to these ‘old’ threads. Just to give the URL.
My only wish, ever, was to free people from such illusions. It turns out that they continually arise, and so it is up to individuals to realise what is true, and what is psychic clap-trap. I am just amazed at how gullible people can be, though I do respect them.
Look to the God within, and don’t get fascinated about:
ONE how special you are LOL, and TWO that something is going to happen on a certain date.

I will add though re: scientific analysis: scientific limitation is one of the things we have to overcome, as is 'spiritual' ambiguity - science and spirit will meet, and have to meet, otherwise something is lost of that wonder it is to be human.....IMO (with both 'sides' quite split over many important issues, yet behind the scenes they are actually agreeing without realising it)
I agree wholeheartedly with David - he is an excellent scholar.
However, I am interested in Truth and sharing experiences - experiential and subjective as well as scientific and objective....both are needed for a clear picture (IMO ;))
anyway, i feel we have cleared up the issues of this thread and the other one.
i feel much better, so thanks to those who supported me in being clear with my truth rather than evasive - much healthier - thanks again

I happen to agree with you about these 'channelled' messages. They are a blinking menace. My former husband put so much faith into them, that they ended up giving him nightmares and me a hard time coping with his lack of sleep.
I go with my own heart these days, and take no notice of anyone's 'channellings.'

Magpie - 'the others' weren't responsible for HP being taken down earlier on. It was caused by small-minded louts who objected to honest debate and hacked in and caused problems.

Forgive me all, there are only so many hours in the day. And this applies to all threads. I will try to reply to all, but right now cannot. I think I have already written about my stance? So there is not much more to say?

i didnt say it was anything otherwise
i just said i didnt believe in coincidence and the topic was actually relevant to the message i posted as well as any other they were not happy with

in terms of channelling - the truth is that this is not a channelled message, but that serves as a term with which people are familiar, since i dont have another one for it
