OK It's a long one so get a cup of tea, & if it scrambles yopur brain or would it be mind Hmmmmm? Just spare a thought for what it did to mine as it was cming to me lol;)

To me the Term mind, body, spirit. Conjures up three aspects of ourselves.
We also have the Brain, which to me is yet still another aspect of our selves
How do we define these Ok the body is the obvious one, but what of the mind when does what we say or do cease being of the (Brain) to become the minds thoughts.
When does the mind cease to be and our thoughts actions become one with the soul/spirit?
This is how I see it,
The brain = all things on a physical level, it controls both somatic & Automatic, movement i.e. things we do with out thinking such as breathing, putting one leg in front of the other while walking. The regulation of our heart beat. The functions of neurones getting messages from one place to another steering that instruction down the right path so we can do these things..

Mind= all to do with both physical & psychological movement.
IE You want a cup of tea but you need to make one so your mind thinks I need to put the kettle on then put the tea bags in the pot, then ……….. Each of these thoughts are conscious, sympathetic we know we have to do these things in order to get our cup of tea!
(The brain also comes into play here) Once you have made the decision the mind to have the cup of tea & the steps required to get one (then the Brain automatically sends the instructions to the parts of your body you need to use to actually physically carry it out.). You can also make a conscious decision to change your emotional reaction to something. I.e. you may read or hear something that makes you sad or annoys you but you may decide that NO, You won’t allow yourself to feel that way or react that way.
OK are you still with me? Cos I’m not sure I haven’t lost myself.!!
The Spirit/Soul. Now then to me the soul /Spirit. Is the most complicated one of all, because it controls nothing in actual fact you control it? The soul may not agree with you in what you say or do & will react thus so. It may cry You feel low, depressed, How many times have people who are depressed told you they have no idea why they’re depressed To me that’s because the MIND is not a part of the soul and has no part in why they feel depressed. It is not aware / conscious of the reason they feel depressed. Your soul however is. Many times it is when people look deep within much deeper than the mind or brain they see that these feelings are on a soul level. When you feel depressed you don’t feel it in your head you feel it in your soul of plexus & heart chakra, because you are not allowing your soul to grow to have the power it needs not to control but to grow? Yes we do get physical symptoms with depression because if the soul is sick it has a major effect on how we feel about just about anything.
The soul takes us into a deeper level of the senses. The mind & brain control the physical aspects of these senses. How we see things, how we feel things, What they feel like, How we taste things, what thing’s taste like. How things sound. How we smell things, what they smell like.
The soul doesn’t any physical means, to feel, to see, to hear,
We use different parts of our being to do these things, I believe that the soul uses only
Three senses and in a very different way to the body/mind.
With the soul you see with your heart, you listen with your heart.
The soul speaks to us, using the emotions of the soul and the mind to translate it for us.
All this information/feeling is sent to the soul of plexus chakra that is the seat of spiritual power/ knowledge so you can feel with your soul.
Plexus = any net work or web like formation so is this the mind of our soul?
Is this why when ever we have a strong emotion we feel it in either the Heart Chakra &/or the soul a plexus Area?
So do these aspects of ourselves work in unison or separately? Do or can, they do both? Could it be that when we have a strong emotional reaction to

RE: Mind body spirit

interesting 😀

To me though i reckon their all connected...you cant have one without the other...

I think the soul/spirit you have is actually you and that the mind is connected to the soul...maybe the soul is your spirit self...I mean when you die if you believe in spirits then the soul is what leaves you and turns into the spirit lol i aint making sense lol I also think the soul is what makes you human makes you unique because it guides you it lets you know what is right and what is wrong, makes you feel and be able to be creative...i think actually while am writing this thats its all the same thing i mean mind, spirit & soul...the brain etc as you said is the physical house with which we're held so that we can exist on this earth coz if you think about it its perfect for this environment and for reproduction all the biological aspects of life...i dunno am confusing myself lol

But with out all the components we're nothing you have to have everything in order t exist lol you cant be missing one and be normal...And in my experience the body effects you quite alot if your body's tired then you cant function as well as normal and people who have alztimers (spelt wrong sorry) seem to loose their way...i dunno how it effects the sou and stuff but well you know wot imean

Willow x

(I'll probably re-write this after I've thought about it more lol)

RE: Mind body spirit

Here are three other ways of thinking about it. Theosophy 'talks' of seven bodies or levels to us:

The Monad (highest God Self)
The Causal Body
The Ego (they mean by this the Higher or Christ Self)
The higher mental or memory body
The mental body of concrete thought
The astral body in which feelings take place
The etheric double (a part of the physical body but just beyond the senses)
The physical body

Hinduism in the Gita represents Spirit as the rider of a four-horse chariot. The four horses represent the physical nature, mind, emotion, and memory. In other words, they definitely have Spirit as being the 'real you and me', and we are meant to master everything else -- even mind is just intended to be the docile instrument of Spirit (we are not truly the mind which is ever-changing).
