Hi All!
I am busy reading Crossing Over by John Edward, its an interesting read. As most of you know he is a medium who "talks to the dead" as he would put it! 🙂 I have watched a few of his programmes too. Whenever he brings people through that have crossed over he says that they are there with other family members who have crossed over... I believed that too.
But then I was reading about crossing over (dying) on another website, www.ofspiritandsoul.com and on there it said that we are all at different stages in our spirtual development. (which I believe too) It said that there are differnet levels of spirituality and development in the spiritual world. It said that depending on where you are in your personal development will depend on which level you will go to, to progress. It said that spirits on a "higher" level can connect with spirits on a "lower" leve but not the other way round.
Which leaves me a little confused (or maybe stupid:)) Coz if we are all on differnt levels in the spirit world then when mediums bring through our loved who have crossed over how come they usually say that they are all together?
Am I just getting my info from dodgy places or am I being really silly?

Yes, I have read the same thing, about Souls progressing on the Other Side through various levels. I also read that a Soul can be wherever it wants by Thought. I think the books by Sylvia Browne cover the subject from this angle. Forgive me if I'm getting mixed up by different titles,[sm=scratchchin.gif] only I work in a library and used to run the New Age section when I worked at a local Waterstones.
I also read somewhere that since the Soul progresses up through the various levels they are less likely to come back "In visitation" as often on the Earth plane. It's a fascinating subject and I've no doubt that someone who's Wise and Learned in such matters will be able to explain things more.:)

I dont think any one on this planet can tell you how spirit is and the realms realy is
All I can tell you with everyone that spirit talks to spirit talks in the forms as or in ways that they understand
Eg for me in my devolvement thay have told me ways of looking at it and when I have got that give me another way of looking at it
Like I could not understand that they dont judge when I came from the space the murder is wrong so they said look at the murder and the victim made a contract for there understanding and I could relate to that
But remember that with any spiritual work that is done it gose through the person and is where there understanding sits how clear it will be
For me all energy is one as I can not truly relate to that thay give me said look at as we come in forms that you relate to your grandma guilds ect
They say all energy is one but to me as I talk to them I see them as higher and lower and could but them cubbyholes ha ha
So do what feels right for you for you are the best judge of self or your best guru
But in the knowing there are no facts as our understanding grows the facts shift

Hi Wooky - as Vortex says, spirit talks to spirit in the forms that they can understand, and as our understanding grows, the 'facts' change. You will find conflicting info on many aspects of the spirit realms because on many levels, it's too much for us to understand in our physical forms. The brain canna take it, Captain!
How about this for an explanation - when we pass over, we shrug off the physical personality and baggage like a cocoon, re-connecting with the 80% of our spirit which has remained there. We share our experiences on Earth and assimilate spiritual growth. We also go over lessons learnt, choices made and so on. If we want to communicate with people left behind, we learn to do so, or we may already have learnt that ability and slip back into it - depends on our level of development. We can also connect with people gone before us (and I know this happens because my Mum once came through all excited because she'd 'found' an old friend who'd died about 20 years before her)
Now, I'm not sure when we decide to be purely spirit and work on our development exclusively, but I suspect it depends not only on level of development but also of those we have left behind, who may be connected to our greater 'soul group' - the group of souls who tend to incarnate together to help the whole group's progress. (see, now it's getting complicated! lol).
I'm also not sure how long we remain with our most recent personality/memories, which is how we can then meet up with family members etc, but I think it can be for several years and again, how we 'come back' is tied to the understanding and development of those on Earth.
As an example of this from my experience, my Mum visited me several times a few years after she passed. As I progressed as a medium, her visits have been rarer and I'll get visits from other relatives and my Dad, but not her so much. A few years back, she asked me to remember them 'Not as we were, but as we ARE'; ie - as spirits. I feel she has moved to a different level, and I know my Dad is learning to progress by working with my spirit helpers and observing me.
A confirmation of this was an amazing experience when my friend, a medium, gave me a message which consisted of my aunt swopping memories with my Mum, who seemed to be speaking or connecting through me!!! I knew the memories my aunt was communicating were from her and Mum's years together because I vaguely remembered Mum talking about those times and they had no direct relevance to me as a person... unless I was being used as a channel to Mum!!! 😀
So you see, it's a fascinating subject and dependent upon experiences and knowledge, so don't let conflicting info bother you - find whatever works for you at this time and go with it until the 'facts change'.

There are so many things I am still learning, there is so much to take in so as you guys I have said I am going with what feels right... 🙂
