Entirely so Moonfeather, very nicely put - the answers are indeed (IMHO) inside us all - and surely by leaving that safe harbour, and reaching out to entities which may or may not exist, we are brushing aside the real truth and accepting substitutes for our own souls?

I love the way this thread has gone... from the 'sweetness and light' that Xia debates against to the deeper examination of just what lies beyond the 'new age' and its 'gurus'. I mean, we've had the Indian 'earth' philosophy, then the Mayans, the fairies, the crystal children, and now everyone is 'into' angels... where are people going to search next, when the answers are right inside them? 😀

Most agreed! Angels, devils, crystals.. anywhere but ourselves... my god, humans think we are so crud! Human is bad, human is bad, must worship something........
As for the love and light sect, their over-emphasis on that singular aspect of humanity is very harmful to people, in my view..... it is just another way of saying *something is wrong with you...* well, the fight back to that is *no actually, I'm perfect, just as I am - so stick your judgement where the love and light don't shine.....*
ALl of the knowledge, and all of the strength we will ever need are already, here and now, ready within us....

I think some people do, Gilly and I'm thinking of the 'workshop junkies' for a start... going to all sorts of weekends for a spiritual 'high' when inside... wow!!
Humans are so desperate to be told what to think, what to feel... I always come back to that wonderful scene in 'Life Of Brian' where the crowd pick up his sandle and decide to worship it...illustrates the herd mentality beautifully.
On the other hand, a signpost or two is usually needed to reveal the way to greater clarity and awareness of the truth within and as long as we don't get hung up on the labels instead of the way forward, then whatever works! Reject the crassness and falsehood... but don't throw out the baby with the bathwater. 😉
