Hi There..
In a discussion today spiriutal matters and so on.. and the subject of healing came up and a question on soul healing...
How does one describe what a soul healer is.. is there one?
If there is soul healing via a healing channeller or whatever.. how would one work on this level..
What and why would the soul need healing .. and can it be healed?
Many thanks for anyone who takes time to answer these ?

From what I have seen/heard Soul Healing is another type of energy work - healing on the esoteric body; chakra work, etc.

The soul is purely Spirit and will never be in need of healing. It is the human body and the emotional damage we impose on it that requires healing.
To imagine that the soul could be in need of healing is to think that God, by whatever name we use, could be injured. And your question is excellent, in that we must ask what the source of healing is, if not Spirit itself?
The soul itself progresses only in one way and that is to become ever more expansive. It cannot ever lose the growth that it gains. In our human habitation we may not fully express the fullness of the soul, but we do not ever move backward. In any incarnation our first task is to again accomplish the highest level we have ever reached (to bring our human understanding up to our level of soul development); then to continue our growth from that point.
This fills me with the greatest pleasure and an abundance of joy! We can never be less than we are now and forward movement can only bring greater being-ness.

I really must admit that the idea of our Souls needing healing made me go a bit "D'uh?"
Maybe the reality of this "title" relates to the energy work done in the likes of Reiki, Spiritual healing, Chakra balancing etc?
I'm not a Shaman so I really can't say for sure (can anyone?) but tend to agree here with Steve and Nancy - at least until someone can offer me some other explanation.....(are we getting back into the realm of the "brain" here, S & N?;))

I would like to add me opinion here, which is just that...an opinion;). I would of thought your soul may at times need healing, it's my thought that your soul can me damaged through emotional pain, suffering & loss & hurt, I think that it is possible for some emotional experiences to cut so deeply that it leeves a mark on our souls & can distort the essence of 'us' throughout this life time & perhaps a past life depending on your thoughts on past lives, personally I believe in past life but not everyone does. I like the sound of soul healing:D
To me it's the higher self that is the part of us that's a direct connection to God/Goddess/Sorce/Universe...hhhuuummm, now I'm off to ponder my soul vs my higher self:eek:
