Love it!

Yes I agree, and I think this is a natural change and a spiritual one also, and seems overdue, but, were we ready for it before this time? I don't personally think so, I think the time is perfect now, and it seems that all such huge changes of mass thinking and action in human life are achieved at exactly the right time.;) Hindsight is a wonderful gift;)

I have to say I rather like Rowan Williams (and Rowan Atkinson!) - I think he has arrived within the established church at the right time - and any Christian priest who acknowledges the ancient wisdom of Druidism can't be all bad!!

If the ways of thinking, the dogma and doctrines are to be changed I think now is the right time. I'm not churchified - as I've said before I don't believe in religion but I have a heck of a lot of Faith.
I do feel more people are beginning to accept the idea of names are only words - whether it is Allah, Jahweh, Jehovah, God - they are all aspects of the same. We all have many different names: Glenys, Mum. Gran, Sister, Daughter, Auntie etc., I'm still the same person it's just other people's perceptions of me which are different.

I remember reading that all references to "Holy Spirit" etc., in the old texts - Hebrew, Islam etc., are all in the feminine.
I'm going to throw some beans on the jacket potatoes now. Back later!!

Love
Glenys

Ha, well no jacket pots for me a veggie burger and salad with raw garlic so, aint you glad I'm not face to face!!!!!!!!![sm=1kis.gif]

I do agree about Rowan Williams, he possesses ENERGY which past Archbishops have not. He shows an open mindedness too, hence the acknowledgement of Druidism. I only wish all his priests were the same[:-]

The feminine was a powerful force in the past indeed. It was explained to me by spiritual healing teachers that, as time is of no real essence, nature/God can experiment freely as there are not the boundaries of time that we have in our existance, and, having had the powerful feminine, it then changed to the powerful masculine, and neither worked as they were unbalanced. These times are heading towards an equality of power of both, which I believe is begining to be apparent to us all slowly but surely.

Like a lot of things in the bible Paul is also incorrectly perceived due to the mis-translation and misinterpretation of the original texts by men! It would be interesting to view a bible translated completely by female scholars, I feel an even more interesting text would emerge than the NIV.

Also it would be good for someone who understands spiriitual symbology and allegory to translate it too!

Sadly too many people hit the shell on a rock of literals and wonder why the shell will not open.

Love beyond measure

I believe we can only put our own interpretations on any symbology.

Unfortunately, we do not have the socio-cultural mindset of the people who existed 2,000 years ago. We have history, texts etc., but even within the oldest belief systems, the mindsets have altered radically.

Hopefully, we are now on the path to achieving balance between opposites.
