RE: Is there no-one brave enough?
😀 Nice one Brent - nevertheless, we DO all have our own Truths. You party hard too 😉 I will just party, as I am too old for the 'hard' bit[sm=rollaugh.gif][sm=rollaugh.gif][sm=rollaugh.gif][sm=rollaugh.gif][sm=1kis.gif]
Dear Kim
2. If you believe that in literal reality, you will believe anything!
So far we have managed to conduct this discussion without comments such as the above. It would be pleasant to know that whatever one believes is accepted as THEIR truths by you, (see above) which you may have thought of as amusing, but was actually rather condesending. You have put your own interpretation of my words and research down here, which I respect, but do not agree with.
I was pointing to the research I had done on this discussion - and the indisputable fact that Paul, as do many other people, acknowledged the existance of evil;) As did Christ. If it did not exist for Christ why then did he spend 40 days and night in the wilderness being deliberately tempted by evil?

RE: Is there no-one brave enough?
Dear Gillyann
Please don't take things so seriously and so personally, I was only having a joke with you about the 'literals and believing anything' when you have shown and proven to us in the past that the complete opposite is true. The written word can be so restricting at times!
The Temptation - well if you consider greed, lust, desire etc as evil then that maybe your truth, personally I do not, I view it as misqualified energies and the battle between the human self and the divine self. My view is that Jesus was tested by his own soul, an initiation that we all experience in the rite of passage and self purification on the path home to peace and love. The Gita is all about this struggle I have just discovered.

RE: Is there no-one brave enough?
PS I have been having interesting conversations with scholars. Here is one response.
Oh yes Kim, I am the first to say it was believed that Origen was the original compiler. But we have uncovered documents in the last hundred years which confirmed Marcion preceded Origen. Marcion was tracked down and murdered as a heretic, the majority of his works burned.
It was discovered in the writings of Justin Martyr and heresiologist Irenaeus of Lyons that Marcion was credited with the first compilation. We can reconstruct a good deal of Marcion's writings through the references in Tertullian's Adversus Marcionem and Epiphanius' Panarion.
His compilation we are certain contained the Euangelion (the Gospel of the Lord), the Apostolikon, ten epistles of Paul (not including the pastorals) and the Gospel of Marcion along with pieces of early Luke.
I think you would LOVE reading about Marcion, his faction was the largest of the Gnostics, and he was completely against the immoral laws of the OT. He insisted that Christ made a new covenant based on love and salvation, not blood sacrifice and law. He wrote pretty explosive criticisms against the formulating church which attempted to make Jesus as judgmental as Yhwh.

Dear Charlotte
That's fantastic, I love it, it confirms everything that the Holy Spirit has shown me.
Wonderful confirmation.

RE: Is there no-one brave enough?
DESTINY,
What is destiny?
Is it love?
Is it hate?
Is it you?
Is it me?
Is it one?
Is it three?
Destiny - a three pronged fork!
1) To be or not to be? That is the question. Why?
Are we going to allow ourselves to be all that we are or are we not?
2) Are we going to look fate in the eye and turn a blind eye?
This is something which only the brave can answer.
3) To die or not to die? This is the question.
Shall we explain? Indeed we shall.
To die to the realities of old understandings. This is a harsh reality.
When all that one knows is lost. When all that one is, is changed. When all that one perceives no longer 'fits', alone and dejected is he.
And this shall come for many. Our child who writes experiences this state now. All that has gone before has changed, leaving her a little bitter for the confusion stored.
We understand this bitterness, when one wakes up one shall see; that all is not so different; just another reality.
Indeed it is not the same; a brighter path will be; when the anger has passed; and you take a look at last into the new reality; you will say; had a fine time then but the future looks much brighter now to me.

Nothing ever dies Spirit Talk, why ask the question? And reality, is what is within ones own perspective.
