RE: Is the New Age spiritual?
Hi,
Well in essence Sacredstar of course you are right - who cares what the path is as long as it gets you to the goal (although with the spiritual path isn't it the path which is often the main point, not the goal? But I digress...)
Yes so I think we are all agreed on this forum now that the new age is spiritual but that it is not the pinnacle of spirituality and just a stepping stone in collective evolution. Am I right in thinking where this debate has led? Correct me if I'm wrong guys.
But energyatwork, I must emphatically disagree with you when you say that the economic environment these days mean that even Jesus and Buddah would charge for their services. I think that as true holy beings they would give their healing, which comes from God, freely.
I look at it this way: a doctor who uses medicine that needed to be learnt, who uses tools in a scientific manner can charge those who afford it but must give healing free to those that can't.
A spiritual healer, whose gift is innate not learnt (and no - it's not learning just cos you've paid £300 for a weekend course) should give healing freely, unless a rich benefactor wishes to pay of his own accord.
OK - I'm waiting for the backlash folks, I can take it 😉
love light and laughter,

I think that is the point that Venetian is trying to make. The New Age has expanded beyond the purest essence of the true objectives of spiritual growth. Which of course is to find ones way back home to the source. Buddhists call it Nirvana and Jesus called it the Kingdom of GOD. 😉
I am being given the analogy of the author of an amazing book that is sold by the publisher to film makers. The scriptwriter expands the story and moves it away from its true origins and authenticity. The film becomes a blockbuster, makes loads of money and the man in the street loves it. However, the author of the original piece feels betrayed by the script writers creative license, they left out the real meaning of the book and its true message. They sensationalised the drama and the film ceases to resemble the book and its universal truths.
However, some are so taken by the film they do indeed read the book and for others a seed was planted. All is perfect because if the film had not become so popular people would not have read the book or considered the author.
Funny thing on the path it is often the case that one does not truly know what path one is on until one has nearly completed it. 😀
The only reason one is asked not to concern oneself with the destination is so that one can enjoy to the full the journey, for the present is the greatest gift from GOD. However, that does not mean that we cannot be consciously aware of where we are flying to and what plane we are flying on! 😉
Love beyond measure
