I'm not sure if it's exactly what you're referring to, but clairvoyance is 'seeing', clairsentience is 'feeling', and clairaudience is 'hearing'.... if it's just one word that describes the whole thing I haven't a clue...!!

Hi, seem to have missed this posting before now... I don't know if you've gotten any further with these cards, but here's a few tips for you just in case...

Firstly, don't get tangled up in knots about the meanings, spreads or anything like that. Take the cards out of the box and hold them. Just hold them. Give them a shuffle, spread them out face up and pick up those you are drawn to. Look at the pictures, see if anything jumps out at you or draws your attention. Have a think about what it might mean to you at this time. If something pops into your head, go with it. Write it down. Repeat.

Congrats - you just did your first reading...

And yes, you can do readings for yourself. Just be aware that it's difficult to be totally unconnected, especially when you are anxious for an answer. When that happens, or the cards seem blank and unresponsive, put them away for another day. Try daily single cards, using them as a message for the day ahead; that will begin to help you relax with them.

P.s. I am fairly sure that I can do that thing where you hold an object and you can "see" and "feel" who has held or owned the object before - can`t remember what it`s called???[&:]
How can I develope this and what could I use it for??:eek:

It's called psychometry, Sarajo, and you can develop it by holding old objects and recording what you get. Try it with a friend, just for fun, so they can confirm anything you pick up. It's a psychic talent, like any other and you could use it to develop your abilities.

I will get the cards out again and try to "bond" with them.
since I have posted this thread I`ve bought some goddess oracle cards (because they were really beautiful and appeared a lot easier!)
I`ve found that they work well with me and have had some very positive readings from them.

It's just a thought but have you tried meditating on the image of your cards??....hhhuuummm granted it sounds like a long process as there's 70 odd cards to go through but maybe just a 10 min meditation on each over a long period of time....I don't know if any other reader here would agree with me on that but I find that it helps you to get a kind of 'bond' with the cards and absorb their energy & when you see them in a reading in a way they kind of talk to you....the only way that I can describe it is that it's like when you have a friend that you know really well sometimes you can tell what they're thinking without them telling you;)..the same can happen with tarot cards. Also I find in my expereince that I dream about the cards that I use...didn't you have a dream recently???

I will try to connect with each card - I presume the meanings will change depending on who/when and why I am using them? So the meditating is more of a connection that can be drawn on when i need to reconnect when I am asking for a reading ??? (if that makes sence???)

Yes I did have a dream recently about tarot! - I`d forgotten about this post when i wrote about the dream - I will go back and look at what was said re the dream.
I remember it made go and get the cards out again and start looking at them again.

I get really confused with the minor arcana suit - the wands, pentacles, swords and cups and the numbers with them - I forget what each suit means and what the number signifies for that suit. But the major arcana isn`t too bad because I take my inspiration from the pictures themselves.

Is this a valid method or doing a reading?

I only do them for myself, and ask a question that is bugging me strongly and try and find a meaning. I must admit I have better success with the oracle cards - but they are limited and I feel I want a deeper meaning sometimes.

Some people read using reversal ect, personal when I do a reading it depends on what cards are around which can turning the 'oringinal' menaing on it's head[&:]

Does your deck have many images on the minor cards, some deck are quite plain where others have designs on which makes it so much easier to get the feel of the card. When I first started using cards I only used to read off the major & I never got the minor out of the pack;)...ok so I cheated
