You have to laugh. A skepticism forum has an open thread giving tips of how to promote skepticism such as becoming part of the community, not usuing skepticism board names, offering help to poor 'deluded' woo woo's and not to flood boards.
I know that the mods have had to deal with a lot on these boards in the past few day and I've a feeling there's more to come but the point that I wished to make was that I have made some great friends here and have now let these people make me feel uncomfortable. I have enough trust issues without worrying whether to talk to a new member (who in alll likelyhood is perfectly genuine). I was even concerned about giving out my address to a potential customer today as I didn't know where they had got my details from and was concerned it was one of those from 'that' board!
They will never understand the kind of friendly community we have here. It's somewhere that a lot of people come to for support, sympathy and help. I almost find it sad that they dont get it.

Appalling how some feel they can hurt the feelings of others to sustain some flimsy sense of moral and intellectual superiority...
As Hemingway put it ''Those of us to whom dreadful things have been done must take every opportunity to be kind''. Also, it is the surest way to irritate them. 😉
They are indeed popping in and reading, and to what end? To see their mean-spirit and ignorance contrasted with something finer. Let them watch...
