My DD is 10, nearly 11. For the last three or four months she has occasionally complained of a sore belly. It usually goes within a day.
Its worse tonight though. Its not bad enough to call a doctor out over IMO, but I was just wondering if anyone knows if this might be a pre-menstruation thing?
I didn't suffer like this as far as I can recall, but just wondering if thats a possibility. I do plan to take her to a doctor sooner rather than later.
RE: Is this a girl thing?
Hi
I can't honestly remember that far back. I know I had pains but don't recall if it happened several months before the event. I would take her to the dr though. Does it happen after anything ie eating, exercise etc. She could have IBS or other things and its not necessarily related to her forthcoming menstral cycle.
good luck
RE: Is this a girl thing?
Thank you
It diesn't seem to be after food, more often I would say before food. She has also suffered from 'loose stools' as well.
I am taking her to the doc this week, in fact I am going to change her doctor specially, as there is a fab one a few miles further away than her doctor is, and I know she will look at every option, whereas its a bit hit and miss at her current practice.
Thanks again

My 10 yr old son used to complain about sharp cramps in his belly too - it was from constipation. How is your daughter's diet? School food is terrible, so I always make sure my son gets enough good healthy fibre in his diet at home (salads, fresh fruits & veges) and I make sure he drinks enough water. Sodas/pop and othersugared drinksare absolute poison as are candies, cakes & cookies, sugaredprocessed cereals, andchips. Any foods containing high-fructose corn-syrup is best avoided.
Also, natural live-cultured yoghurt (not the mass-producedprocessed variety - home-made is best!) is extremely healthy for kids digestion and overall health as it not only booststhe immune system, it actually helps to produce essential nutrients such as b-vitamins (also great foradults). Do a search on "probiotics health benefits" in Google for more info. on the benefics of yoghurt. A good (dr recommended) daily kids multi-vitamin will help too.
Does she have silver fillings in her mouth? Mercury in silver fillings are extremely dangerous over the long-term and will cause many serious disorders. You can find out more about this by Googling "silver fillings, mercury". Kids are especially vulnerable.
