Hello :o) Not too long ago, a local school-mate and a very great friend of mine said she had Crohn's Disease. Everyday I see her soiled in by the depression and pain, she's simply always down and only momentarily can I enrich her heart with happiness.

I don't believe that what she's taking for the disease is helping at all, and I come here to ask of advice or suggestions in which I can use to help her. Are there any herbal remedies that could assist? Anything that can be offered as advice would be appreciated, thank you!
🙂

RE: Crohn's Disease

Hello spiritual courier,
I did a little research into Crohn's disease for an assignment for university last year. I looked at a drug that is used by orthodox medicine 'Remicade' also known as 'Infliximab'. It helped a lot of people and eased their symptoms for a short time. From what I can remember they don't readily prescribe it in the UK unless you meet certain criteria. But I guess money comes into this as well as it is an expensive medication. I also looked at a Herbal treatment for Crohn's disease and the only one that I could most readily find was Goldenseal (Hydrastis canadensis). I found a lot of information from a monograph by the American Herbal Pharmacopoeia on Goldenseal. They have cited lots of tests for its use, however, there is no readily available data with regard to its use in humans, all conclusions drawn are derived from animal experiments.
There are lots of self help groups, do a search on the Internet. I think it would be really good for your friend to talk to someone who has similar symptoms. Also, it may be wise for your friend to see a Herbalist. They can work out an individual prescription for your friends needs and also monitor her progress. I am not saying it will work but perhaps it will reduce her symptoms enough to feel life is worth living. Its worth a try. I am not sure if you live in the UK but if you do you can find a Herbalist that lives near you by going to The National Institute of Medical Herbalists web site. www.nimh.org.uk
I hope this is of some help.
Take care x

RE: :o)

There's a thread on Chrone's Disease on the Bowel Disorders forum for more info. 😉
