Hello Everyone,

Hope you've all had a lovely Christmas. Been worried about this and thought I'd post it up. It feels a little embarrassing to do so, but I do feel I need to settle my mind a bit. Since Nov I've been really stressed with business moves and with things happening in my family. So the week before Xmas I came down with a bad vomiting bug, and only now I'm starting to feel like myself. I have however been left with a nasty cough which is still affecting my stomach muscles when I cough. During that week, I had my period, which practically became non-exsistant. Just the other night after a lot of thought I decided to sleep with my boyfriend for the first time. I'm 25 and always wanted to wait for the right person, (so delighted that I have!!). After that I bled a little bit, and have continued to have sore stomach cramps and occassional bleeding since. I can't figuer out whether it's a period or not, however my stomach feels like it is. But I think I'm just really worried about it now, as it only comes every now and again and hasn't been as strong in one go like a normal period. Plus it's only been a week since my last cycle.

Has this happened to anyone else and would anyone have advice please?

Lots of love
Biscuits xo

Hello littlebiscuits

There is no need to be embarrassed, we are all friends here!

The bleeding you experienced after intercourse sounds like the bleeding that occurs when the hymen is damaged after you have slept with someone for the first time. This is normal and nothing to worry about. I personally remember also having stomach cramps when this occurred so I would say that is probably normal too, but if it continues for much longer then I would check things out with your gp to be on the safe side.

Your cycle could also have been pushed out of sync by the stress you had a few weeks ago, and by the nasty bug you caught. Just checking, is there any chance you could be pregnant?

Claire x

Thank you so much Claire for getting back!!

I don't feel that I would be pregnant, as we were safe and used protection and afterwards we checked to ensure everything stayed in the condom. I do feel my system is all out of sink, I just didn't expect as much bleeding as there was, and that coupled with the cramps, I thought could possibly my period. Then again, it doesn't seem as constant as a period as it's only every now and again. This has all only been since sat and last night.

But I will keep an eye on this, (how can i miss it lol) and thank you so much for getting back as I have been worried.

Thank you xox
