Is he hanging on too long before going, this often causes difficulty in initiating peeing as the muscles have had to tighten to 'hold on'. Can be very difficult at scholl, especially if they dont like to ask to go.

Otherwise a trip to the GP is a good idea.

I agree about seeing a GP but was wondering, does he then go in his pants instead? If not, I wouldn't be too worried - perhaps he's eating too much salt/sodium in his diet. That retains so much water, even in kids...just a thought!

1. What is Hypospadias?
Hypospadias is a birth defect found in boys in which the urinary tract opening is not located properly at the tip of the penis. There are varying degrees of severity of hypospadias and several different surgical procedures to correct it.

2. Why should Hypospadias be treated?
The ability to stand and urinate is important for boys. When the urethra opens before it reaches the tip of the penis, a boy may be unable to stand and urinate with a direct stream. Additionally, as an adult male, a straight penis is necessary for satisfactory sexual function and reproduction.
