Hi can anyone give advice? My son is 22 and has just had a urine infection, the doctor told him it was very rare for a young man of his age to get a urine infection. Anyone know about this?

Thanks

RE: Male Urine Infection?

Hi im a 33 year old male who has also has urine infections on and off for the last 20 years , yes it is uncommon in males because of the genital set up.I haveone small kidney and a normal kidney and they seem to play up now and again , there might be a underlying cause with your son because it is very uncommon in men.If itcomes back at thefirst signs getback to theGP and get some testsdone , Dont take no for a answer ,get an appointment with your Urology department in your local hospital. I know how he feels , its bloodyrotten.Tell himhe must drink losts of fluids (1-2 litres a day, every day) to keep everything clean and flushed. Hope this helps.
