Has anyone seen a surgeon to discuss their Thyroid? After all my tests coming back OK I'm being sent to a Surgeon to find out what's wrong with my Thyroid (I have a Goitre). I thought maybe I was going to have a biopsy but that's not what the letter says! It just says I'm going for a consultation... but if they don't know what's wrong with it... surely they wouldn't just remove it would they?
If anyone else has a similar experience I would really like to hear from you.
A little worried,
Sian
RE: Surgical Visit for my Thyroid
Hi Sian
I am a newmember (even though I have been reading posts for about 6 months!) I have just seen your post and I had to reply, as I have recently been in the same sitation as you. I had a goitre on my thyroid which was removed on the 23rd June. f you want to PM me I am more than happy to tell you about my situation.
If this helps, the surgeon that I saw removes 80 thyroid lumps a year, it is really common and strangely enough he said that it usually affects women!
I just didn't want you to feel alone on this one, having been in the same confusing situation.
Lots of love
x
