A short while back after finishing uni, a destructive relationship + trying to hold down a steady job I think I may have had a mini breakdown as I felt very confused, stressed out.
At this point I had a spiritual awakening & decided to let everything go which included jacking in my career for a few years.
Not sure why but when I had these few years out 'off the treadmill' I had many emotional & aggressive outbursts. Feelings & bad memories were brewing from the past and resurfacing for me to deal with. At the time I felt very guilty for having a time out as I know every1 is expected to work in our society but I felt it needed to be done. The last two years I have felt much calmer & the anger / guilt feelings have mostly subsided. So many people do awful things on this planet & have no conscience about it so I have nothing to be guilty about. Has anyone had similar experiences to this & is it just down to negative thinking / low self esteem.
It is all about inner divisional conflicts between your aspects of consciousness, whenever we create disharmony within self, then we create an environment of stress and discomfort, the more we judge things, the greater the divisional conflicts become.
This is quite natural, it is the only way that we can experience disharmony and the associated pain and suffering that we create for self within our life experience, if we want it to stop, we have to replace our judgments with self acceptance, replace our divisions and conflicts with wholeness and harmony.
Everything starts and finishes with a thought, we are all personally responsible for our own thought patterns and beliefs that creates the environment of our life experience, there is no right or wrong life experience, there is only a life experience, we need to stop judging and start experiencing it. 😉
Ah I see. I'm very judgemental. Haha. My thought patterns have changed a lot over the years & I do like to observe / analyze life experiences psychologically & from the mystical point of view.
Thanks for the explanation
You are what you think ...as well as what you eat!! Well done on having the courage to drop out for a while......sometimes that is what you need to do.
Low self esteem is insidious at times....at repairing it is crucial to making the sort of changes you have made.
One can't help but notice what is happening to self . Take the school girls kidnapped the other week in africa . If it were your children you would be upset and angry and fearful for their lives .
So in respect to conflict within self, whether one notices kidnapping or abuse of any kind one cannot help but feel what one feels in reflection of that .
Working through what happens and what one notices is what we do and we deal with what happens in the only way we know how .

We have all been there. And we are all here stronger, more together, clearer and so on.
"bad people", situations are the very foundations of being one with oneself. Contrast is necessary to appreciate I ate the other dynamic.
Kindness that happens after enduring ill treatment cruelty, callousness is naturally more alive than in absence if the opposite.
This really is is an interplay of seemingly good and bad. Both inherent, and hiding and accentuating each other.
The world does what it always do. Good and bad happen.
You are negative when negativity has got a hold on you, then your time to break free of it then it shifts, you start getting good calmer, positive happier and so on.
All in the pot spontaneously unfolding.
changing, shifting moving, flowing as it will.
With all this movement, the eternal rest at your core is forgot on about. The chaos is one big catalyst to bring peace to the fore front.
In the big picture all is good. Only good.
So many people do awful things on this planet & have no conscience about it so I have nothing to be guilty about.
What other people do has no bearing on whether you "have anything to feel guilty about" - only what you do. (Although guilt which doesn't change our behaviour is of no value.) Mind you, I can't see any reason for feeling guilty at not shoring up the more destructive aspects of our society.
"Negative thinking" and "low self-esteem" are human inventions, designed (like the idea "every one is expected to work") to push us into particular types of behaviour.
I guess life would be boring if it didn't have its ups and downs.
The calm after the storm!

I wouldn't say they are inventions.......and both can be said to have a protective purpose...........
They are inventions and very modern ones too.
There are several modern inventions of similar nature. What cannot be dealt with simplicity of common sense is classified, labelled then several methods approaches to rectify the same are employed.
'Low self esteem' is now such an established concept that millions across the globe are recognising g it within themselves and painstakingly trying to eradicate it too.
ADHD, attention disorders etc come under same category of inventions.
Therapy and self growth has given amazing concepts and things that need working on.
The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) manages, in each new edition, to make yet more ordinary behaviour into "mental illnesses". Worried about financial instability? Or too big a workload? Years ago you simply were worried about money or about how much you had to do. Now, you have "generalized anxiety disorder" (GAD). "Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder"? It's a childhood condition that we used to call "temper tantrums". And grief because a loved one has died? That's now "Major Depressive Disorder". If it's in the DSM, then it needs drugs to cure it - and drug companies can make money.

Idiocity of our self development crazy society. Lost the plot, can't even see it!

I agree. But I think also that it is an inevitable result of a society that sees everything in terms of how much money it can make.
We have seen a massive surge of all things alternative in the last 2 3 decades. with the advent of all the healing modalities, therapies the emotional problems have got worse. What your mother or grand mother would have sorted for you with traditional stash of wisdom handed down from generations before, now is taken to a so called expert aired, talked about made into a big hu ha, works on....the whole thing takes a bizarre shape.
People have gone into a seeking mode, what to heal next, what to train in next. Then they are going to advertise their wares trying to attract clients who have those problems.
The problems are actually being created by sheer force of their desire to play therapist . Very ironical.
Therapy has a small place in life for extreme traumas, PTSD, phobias and such like but the generic use of therapy as we see happening nowadays is counter productive.
A day, a weekend of training, working from home and good money has been some of the factors that allure majority of people to seek and then train themselves and practice therapy.
Sad times. But people are gloating about how conscious they have become...and what spiritual times we live in
Life needs acceptance not working on issues let alone keep creating new ones to vindicate one's own intellectual grasp over things.
With acceptance things shift. Nothing stays very long. It shifts even more quickly with an attitude of acceptance
Thanks for such a great thread. Acceptance seems to be the real key here. Life is about being in the flow & not getting hung up on things.
Keep the energy flowing whilst dealing with the issues of life head on in the moment.
