RE: Male shaving

Mind you, I just thought of David Beckham. He seems a pretty sane person yet with the hair we see (!) i.e. on top of his head he has such a history of doing wierd things.

Saw him in interview ages ago when he said he didn't start all those wierd fashions when he became famous, but has "always" been doing it.

RE: Male shaving

I much prefer older men to have shorter hair. It makes them appear distinguished. Just my personal preference.

David, I agree that hairy chests on menare nice for we women to brush and stroke. I don't know why anyone would want to shave off such luxuriant locks, but not everyone feels the same way, I guess.

Love,
Patsy.

RE: Male shaving

Just taken a look at Leonard Cohen's website and he doesn't look all that reclusive to me. No album for a couple of years but he's been pretty active nevertheless.
I can also report that he still has hair on his head AND on his chin. Can't vouch for anywhere else...

RE: Male shaving

Hi Patsy,

I wouldn't shave (wouldn't spend the time anyway) but it makes me recall a skit of Billy Connolly upon finding his first grey hair "somewhere else". I can't exactly quote him :D, but it was about how he lost his temper at this hair and went, "What the [complete sentence yourself!]". That could persuade some people...

Supersub,

Yes, even as I wrote that on Cohen I was thinking in the back of my mind "But I'll bet this is old news". Off-topic, but as a student I had an evening job in a hospital. It bored us all to tears, so one way off relieving that was to regularly phone up the hospital's radio show with requests. Frankly we sometimes behaved rather silly. Very black humour as the only other people listening were ill patients in bed! - but I asked once for anything by Cohen and of course it turned out to be one of the darkest, most morbid of his songs. "Razor blades" etc. The old DJ didn't know who Cohen was (!) and was very unhappy when the song ended, thinking of all the patients. :DTook him a week to forgive me.

LOL, we really must have been bored. This DJ had a habit of saying "hmm...." an enormous number of times, so we'd have competitions between the songs. Would he say "hmm..." only 20, or maybe 35 times?

... I think I've wandered off-topic?

RE: Male shaving

Hello David,

Not being a huge fan of Connolly's comedy (far too crude for my delicate palate) I didn't see this skit, but I remember him doing something similar in front of a live audience. It really was too crude to publish here. I happened to catch it one evening as I was flicking through the TV channels in a vain attempt to find something entertaining.

Love,
Patsy.

RE: Male shaving

Sorry - that's what I meant, not 'skit'. Yeah, he's just a superb, lovelyguy on his travel shows, but the language on stage makes me cringe a fair bit too.

He's not so bad where he talks about men being like Barbie Dolls. In so many cases something seems to make hair disappear from on top over time but get "pulled" out the ears or nostrils! 😉

BTW, I wonder if anyone was ever in the multi-level marketing company I almost joined, and just got wise in time? - they insisted (with a couple of guys as slight examples) that if you bought one of their contraptions on which you lie and invert yourself for 30 minutes a day, hair grew back on top! ;)They reckoned all you needed was blood supply. I don't believe it!

Personally, I'm all for men shaving..........faces, chests, legs, armpits etc..........I've never been a fan of hairy chests myself! 🙂

RE: Male shaving

My hubby was into body building a few years ago and was told, he would need to have his legs waxed to show the definition in competition, so my friend's daughter (who is a beauty therapist) said she would do it free if me and her mum could watch. It was amazing, the best laugh we have had in years.

Hubby nearly had a couple of heart attacks as the wax strips ripped the hair from his legs, he said, he had never felt pain like it. But as the therapist was doing the top inner ofhis legs some of the wax seeped to his pubic region, hubby only discovered this when he jumped down off the couch and his testicals were nearly ripped off. (The hair on them was covered in wax and somehow glued them selves to the side of his top inner legs.) I think his screams were heard from some miles away. 😀

Anyhow, the results were fab, smooth hair free legs that got a great suntan, but lordy be, when he cuddled up to me in bed at night, they felt horribly stubbly when they grew back...............and he swears he will never have them done again. lol

Love Angel x

RE: Male shaving

I was intimate with a personal trainer once who used to compete (body building), and he shaved his entire body. Evidently, he was one of those men who was naturally very hairy all over, even his back, so he ended up shaving his back, arms, legs, chest ... everything. On him, it was probably best that way. Although, on other men, I think only shaving the pubic area would be sexy.

When I was in my 20's, I didn't really care for hairy chests on men. Then, in my 30's, I liked both hairless and hairy chests. Now, in my 40's, I think hairy chests are very sexy. Of course, sometimes it depends on the man. 😉

Anyway, shaving the pubic area is kind of new ... and also pretty sexy, IMO! ;):) But it's sexier if the man goes with whatever he feels most comfortable with. 🙂

RE: Male shaving

shaving is the devils work! well it is if you have afro hair and corkscrew follicle every time my brown skin goes all bumpy red then yellow I ask my self how I could have forgotten. Anyhow the beard moustach and big sidies go with the 70's straight out of shaft 'fro I am sporting at the mo.
at the other end try veet it's a lot less itchy growing back as the hairs are tapered. Oh yeah I really love the way the breeze make my whiskers bristle they are so sensory.(big hairy grin)
Isn't the Dalia Lama a skin'ead.

RE: Male shaving

This seems to be a popular subject!

jonny, I once heard that Afros have a big skin rash problem with normal male shaving? Is this true? If so, people should understand and you just let it grow.

Shaving legs? On that - sorry - but what a waste of time! One would have to do it again over and over.

It just came to me how "outer" this subject is, and not concerned with who a person is inside their hearts. Should anyone, male or female, be compelled to spend time on the outer anatomy. None of my friends are, male or female, and not a one!

V 😉
