Hi

I have been feeling out of sorts for a long time now, and so i recently started to see a rolfer to work on structural organisation as i really do feel disjointed. So far i have had 2 sessions and i am starting to notice a difference and feel more 'grounded' within myself which is great, however since starting the rolfing i have developed tingling in my arms and hands and also a pretty stiff neck that seems to 'crunch' quite a bit. The hand/arm issue is much worse during a working day as typing/desk positions dont seem to agree with it however it does wax and wane a lot. I would class it as very annoying as opposed to 'painful' at this stage. I would also note that its not as bad as when it first came on but it is still present.

The rolfer although he did not 'warm' me about this has since said that its not that unusual and he has seen it happen a lot as structures move and assures me it will pass. I guess its not that surprising a sensation to be feeling as i have had work done on my shoulders and neck etc.

I guess i am asking for advice on if this is something that although not expected is not that alarming, to me the fact that its bi-lateral makes me think its not that 'serious' but i wonder if anyone has experienced anything similar or can advise me if i should stop and look for help elsewhere etc?

thanks

This is common with Rolfing and yes it will go after a few days. As the alignment of the body changes it uses different muscles in different ways and clients will often feel sensations like post workout soreness.
