Hi everyone,
At the end of last year i had 2 months off work with constant migranes and headaches that did not go away. The doctors prescribed many different medications (a total of 12 in the end!) but nothing would touch the migranes. The headaches varied in intensity and were always accompanied by nausea. They were more intense in the morning and usually were gone by evening, only to return again the next morning.
I have had numerous blood tests which are all clear and even an MRI scan and a visit to the neurologist which turned up nothing.
Just this week these have begun to return again. I went to the doctor again today and they basically said there is nothing they can do. Although they did suggest a chiropractor.
Has anyone had these symptoms? And what was your solution?
RE: MIGRANES & HEADACHES
I had horrid daily headaches for years!! The only thing that has helped has been homeopathy. It worked fast and permanently, but you must go to a professional. I have also heard that Bown technique can help. I now go to Pilates classes, and my instructor says most stem for neck problems and strengthening and stretching it will help. Good luck, I know how awful this is.

Hiya
Reflexology is absolutely fantastic for Migranes/recurrent headaches...have dealt with several clients - some I have now discharged whilst others have maintenance treatements but are vastly improved!

RE: MIGRANES & HEADACHES
hi
I suffer from migrane and I agree with tigerbee about the reflexology working. When I had reflexology 2 hours later I had the worst migrane ever, being sick the lot it lasted 4 days but I have to say I have never had a bad migrane since so I would agree it works and is worth going through it.

Hi
I'm not a migraine sufferer, but I have helped a couple of people with long term headaches using EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques). This is very easy to learn, can be done by anyone and may well help. Have alook at for more information.
Louise Hay suggests that the probable causes of migraines are: Dislike of being driven; Resisting the flow of life; Sexual Fears . She also adds that migraines "can usually be relieved by masturbation"! Might be worth a try:D
Hope this helps
All the best

Hi,
I'm an ex migraine sufferer and while I don't know why I nolonger get then I can really sympathise.
People have mentioned reflexology here and another therapy you may consider is Indian Head massage - I have had excellent results reducing headaches and migraine occurrances.
hope you get some relief

Hi there
As starfish mentioned, the Bowen Technique is receiving wider
recognition for the benefits it can bring to sufferers of migraine
headaches.
A recent research project showed a majority of patients felt
their symptoms lessen after just three sessions.
See [link= http://www.BowenMigraineResearch.co.uk ]www.BowenMigraineResearch.co.uk[/link] for more info.
Bowen Technique is very gentle and generally you will know
if you will benefit from treatment after the 2nd session.
Hope this helps!

Anna
i also suffer but not as badly as u do, they are just awful so i do feel for u.
i have tried so many different therapies from accupuncture, kineseology (not sure if got spelling correct) osteopathy the list goes on but the thing i have found to help is a combination of accupunture and the occasional crunching by my osteopath. i am a reflexologist but unfortunately it doesnt really work for me although i would recommend giving it a try.
i would say the biggest helpers were cutting out pepsi max and drinking a lot more water. therapists that i would see were always telling me to drink more water but i thought 'no i know best' but when i started to train myself i thought i would give it a go - practice what u preach and all that and it has helped me. i do still get them but less frequently and they are generally not as severe.
you may already drink plenty of water and have a good diet, but if not do please give it a try. it is hard a first to drink water, but now i feel awful if i dont drink it! let us know how u get on with whatever path u follow and good luck!

Hi Anna
Headaches very often benefit from manipulative treatment but do beware. I was 'destroyed' by chiropractic neck treatment which went badly wrong and resulted in a mini 'stroke' I now am left with severe balance problems which will never be righted.
I'm not knocking chiropractic treatment but there are some people unsuitable for it. Maybe consider oesopathy instead it is not such high velocity thrusting manipulation. At any rate be careful.
Another possibility is Chinese acupunture I found it ver good. But I really think the Chinese Medical Centres do it best.
