I take extra strength tylanol for my headaches. Over the years, I've found that I've had to increase the dosage in order to have an effect. I started out with 2 pills of regular tylanol, then went up to extra strength, then went up to 3 pills on extra strength, and now I'm noticing 3 pills on extra strength won't even work. Is there any way to reduce the tolerance that I seem to have incurred? Is it safe to go up to 4 pills or buy something even stronger? At one point is it seriously unhealthy for me to keep upping my dosage?

Why don't you try investigating why you get so many headaches? It doesn't seem normal to me. And there are other ways of dealing with them besides medication.

Yeah, that's a good point, but I don't get headaches that often (I'd say once a week on average). I usually get them after a terrible night's sleep. I'm naturally high strung (ADHD) so it might have something to do with not being able to sleep. So again, good point.

Have you been to your GP to find out why you are getting these headaches? The fact you have bee having them for years rings alarm bells.

Upping the dose of any medication is a very dangerous thing to do without proper medical advice. Who advised you to do this? Or did you decide yourself?

Tylenol contains acetaminophene which is known to dehydrate so taking extra would cause headaches! Dehydration causes headaches. Thats why people have headaches in the morning after drinking heavily.

Get medical advice on your medication. It is the only way, otherwise you are setting yourself up for many more problems now and in the future.

Let us know how you get on.
