I have damage to my neck (hernaited disc and arthritis) which can cause all sorts of weird pains and sensations in my face and scalp BUT a few months ago I one day got a severe feeling of pressure in centre of face behind nose - slightly more left sided but it can move around one side or other - it only last a few seconds but is intense and is often accompanied by a loud click sound coming from face - loud enough for someone very close to me to hear.
My GP tried a course of antibiotics in case of infection but had no effect.
Seen ENT and had ultrasound of neck arteries which were perfectly normal and a couple of days ago had mri of all of head with particular attention to sinuses and ears. I get results later this week. Both my GP and ent consultant seem totally baffled by my symptoms. My nose is not blocked other than about 5 mins after I wake in morning I always since a child have had the left side of nose block up totally for about 10 mins then nose runs forward and down back of throat and my nose clears for rest of day but this is normal for me.
obviously I await the results of mri with nervousness:eek: but wondered if anyone else can relate - My GP is saying if mri normal then is it another weird neck symptom.
I know no one has replied but in case anyone is interested I got result of my mri scan and interestingly it shows some cysts on my brain stem that could be causing the pulse sound in my left ear as they are close to where the jugular artery enters brain and the nerves could be conducting sound through my skull - whether they are also cause of my facial pressure???
Seeing neurosurgoen as Dr says no idea if I have had these cysts forever or they are new and how much of a concern they are. Thankfully everywehre else including ears and sinuses are normal.
