RE: Temper Tantrums
Hi Evie.
I to have a 3 year old super stroper!
My little girl could try a saints patience, and as sweetheart says, I find feeding the beast always helps;)
When she is good she is very very good,
When she is bad she is HORRIED
Oh yes, the more depressed, sad, cross I am the more she plays up, its like she reflects they way I am feeling, so have learnt when she is having a super tantrum, If I lay on the floor and do some deep breathing, after a while she becomes curious and comes across to see what I am doing, and I somehow get her to lay beside me and breath. It moves my mood along, and I feel she has relaxed, and been distracted form what she was screaming about.
Although have not tried this in the supermarket YET:D it works wonders at home!
RE: Temper Tantrums
Hi Hopefull,
funny you should write that my little "Monster" (4 1/2) decided to have a fight with her Mum yesterday and there was war, in the end i had to try to be the peacemaker had to haul her screaming and shouting downstairs. I took her to the frontroom and shut the door she decided to do the poor me I can't stand thing and lay on th efloor screaming and kicking, I got fed up standing in front of the door so I sat on floor with my back to it and hey within 2 minutes she was doing the Actress bawl and 2 minutes later calm and sweet as only a little girl can be, i think this will be my latest weapon against her tantrums 🙂

RE: Temper Tantrums
Hi
Thanks to everyone who has replied with such kind messages and useful tips they are much appreciated.
I see no pattern with Lauren's tantrums other than she likes her own way- one major issue is getting ready for nursery - I'm not wearing those jeans/pants/socks/shoes whatever it is she sees fit to argue with me about.
Of course when you a busy mum trying to get out to work in the morning it's not too good when your daughter is determined not to get you out in time.
I am learning to just try not to react to these bad times just to give her a cuddle - might try the lying down thing only she would probably just kick me because she is usually very violent towards me when having a strop.
Well suppose I better keep trying and hope she grows out of it soon.
Evie xx
RE: Temper Tantrums
My daughter is a pickle as well, she is 17 months, very bright for her age, able to talk quite well and string a sentence together, she knows what she wants and cannot see any reason why I might disagree.
She doesn't have a bad tantrum or become difficult too often, but sometimes if I have to take something away from her she'll go off on one, I always sk her first and if she is good thank her and tell hre she is a good girl. Normally though she wont give something back and will start a fight which involves screaming and shouting and then she'll attempt to sctratch my face...where she got that one from I do not know.
Does anyone else have kids that have tried a youngsters to hit or scratch? My daughter is usually nice and affectionate but can occasionally be a bit bad tempoered and naughty.

RE: Temper Tantrums
Brooke was hitting her dad yesterday and tried to scratch me when I carried her off into the bedroom. I strongly suspect that her blood sugar levels are somehow involved as she is much worse when she hasn't had much to eat, and is invariably much better tempered after a decent meal
