Ok so for the 2nd time in under a fortnight my son is having loose stools, soft filling his nappy rather than a solid kind of poop if that makes sense. Yellow in colour, doesnt smell overly offensive.

He is a vegetarian, he loves cheese, strawberries, apples, bananas, oranges, potatos, carrots, peas, sweetcorn etc

I'm only letting him have toast this morning as I'm obviously aware it could be too much fruit which is why after last bout we limited fruit alot more so am suprised its come back as hes not on anywhere near the amount of fruit he was having before!

Ideas please?

Hi

If he is otherwise well I would not worry too much. My daughter had something similar which our GP called Toddler Diarrhoea apparently in some children the bowel habit is like this as the gut changes and matures. It can be provoked or made worse by a high quantity of simple sugars in the diet, not just refined but fruit sugars as well.

So other than reducing his fruit intake (or all forms of sugar) and increasing other fibre and water/milk it is best to go with it. It will settle eventually.

Blessings
