This research is interesting I would be interested to know whether these psychological problems were already being experienced prior to the onset of cancer. I would lay money on this being so.

RE: The link between Cancer and Psychological problems
Interesting subject.
I suppose it goes back to the state of your mind, possibly affecting your physical health.
A friend of ours who had cancer and sadly died was an outwardly calm person who hid a tumoltuous inner self. He apparently, I discovered after his death, hated certain people with a passion. This coupled with a very stressful job which he resented and lack of sleep (because he worked very long hours and couldn't wind down when he got home) I feel contributed to his illness and death.
RE: The link between Cancer and Psychological problems
Sounds about right Orangeblossom. My own cancer of the cervix was to do with fear of mother since a baby with abnormal smears starting age 18. Although I also feel the metal coil was also a contributory factor. My father also died of lung cancer following redundancy and being alienated from work and the union men. He suffered from dark days when he would not move away from the TV I never did know the reason for his moods although Arien men are said to suffer from them.

Hi Kim
It appears you are a survivor then.
Reading through the posts there seems to be quite a few cancer survivors on HP.
Did you make changes in your life that you can now attribute to over coming the disease? As opposed to medication alone.

Yes a survivor in more ways than one! 😉
Excellent news about there being quite a few here the more the merrier in helping others hey! 😀
Well at the time I wasn't into CM or knew anything about it. I knew nothing about self development either I was only 25 at the time and been married just six months. However, I was totally 100% positive and in winning mode and gave very little else or anyone else any thought whatsoever. It probably helped that I had an excellent creative job that I loved so daytime was not a time for dwelling on self. I wanted to live and nothing was going to stand in my way or stop me, so I never gave any other conclusion any energy or credence. The saddest thing of all is that I was totally alone with it, even till recent times the family were in complete denial over it.
Eventually when I got the all clear I had a baby then I had to have an operation because it came back, I think having Jordan stirred all the cells up again. That was scarry cos I was rushed into hospital in 48 hours notice and mother said 'don't worry dear if they take the lot away! You can imagine going down for the operation, I knew not whether I would have a womb when I woke up.
I don't remember any medication just 2 years of laser treatment, I was lucky at the time there were only six laser machines in the country and it was pioneering work. I had a wonderful doctor called Walter Prendaville, is brother works in television. He left the Middlesex at the end of my treatment and started the new department at Bristol Cancer Unit. He's probably a professor by now!:D
And what about you have you come close to this?

RE: The link between Cancer and Psychological problems
Hi Kim
No thankfully, not at this time anyway, but because it is a disease I am sure we all dread, I am interested to see how people have coped.
It's good to hear success stories.
RE: The link between Cancer and Psychological problems
Great!
It does tend to run in families we have had at least eight cases on my fathers side of the family all in different parts of the body.
It is concerning that cancer is hitting people in their much younger years I see that our local council are trying to get a project up to educate children in schools on cancer prevention. It would be great if we could get the bruce lipton video shown to teachers and senior school children. I have no doubt that the new biology could have a very important impact and halt the progression among young people. However, they would also need the tools and techniques for personal development to go with it.

RE: The link between Cancer and Psychological problems
Revisiting this thread reminded me of case studies quoted by Louise L Hay. eg if a woman is not treated like a woman (eg husband who doesn't give her the "attention" she needs) then she could develop cervical cancer or other related reproductive problems. In fact a friend told me his gf had an ovarian cyst - I immediately asked if he'd been "neglecting her". He was surprised but admitted this had been the case as he has 2 jobs.
Metaphysics is certainly interesting.

Dear DarrenFollowsThePath
That's an interesting one ! Alas my husband was amazing absolutely adored me with loads of affection and attention it came on when we had only been married for 6 months so we were hardly over the honeymoon.
In fact, I have to say in 30 years one of the 2 best relationships of my whole life. Mine came from fear of mother from a small child hence the cervix is also linked to the feminine. In fact, when I did the inner child work pre-birth I did not even wish to be born to her because I knew as soon as I arrived the pain would begin and continue till I was 40+
Abnormal smears from age 18 and as I think of what you are saying it is was around my 18th birthday I experienced serious rejection from my family and lacked affection and attention from them. I was alienated because I was the first person in the family to live with their boyfriend in those days it just was not done, so I was the black sheep.
