Apparently they use natural remedies before drugs in Germany as normal routine.

Sounds like another anti-medical site.

Strange how it's targeted at americans and it's just selling a book so you can find out where these clinics are. I am missing something somewhere?

I don't find any reference to it on the Trip database, yet is says "Germany's top cancer doctors...." "They've developed a better way". If it's not in the trip database then it's not in mainstream medicine.

I think if anyone who has been recently diagnosed with cancer would stressed by what they read on this site by the horror stories he prints. But he wants people to buy his book, and fear is a great motivator.

If you are newly diagnosed with cancer I would recommend you visit Macmillan cancer support for information. They will tell you exactly what happens with the various cancer treatments on offer from the NHS.

Would I trust a jouralist who is selling his book to find the treament I need, or would I trust qualified doctors who use evidence based medicine?

Cancer

Check out Phillip Days site Credence and the Campaign for truth in medicine, research deeply, follow information from there you will then find out things to help you and other things that might shock you.

One thing for sure if you are recently diagnosed with cancer call Phillip Day, not the Macmillan nurses as marvolous as they are, check out Food Matters.

Evidence Based

How do you know that Doctors use Evidence based medicine and what do you mean by that?

When medicine is evidence based, it means that it has been through trails that are based on approved guidlines, the results are published as a research paper that can be peer reviewed. This means that anyone can rerun the trial and produce the same results. For example have a look at the trip database of published research:

There's a previous thread on Phillip Day here:

It's a bit untidy because of necessary editing, and it was made on the previous version of Healthypages, so unfortunately links are broken. External links should work if they're copied into the address bar, but internal links to other HP threads unfortunately will not.

Apologies for that, but it should still be readable nonetheless. 😎

EDIT: I've tweaked the link in post #1 to Phillip Day's website on that thread. It's OK now.

Thinking aloud.......

Hmmm.....just sitting here wondering what western medicine would do for scurvy if it was still around today.....??? A cure as simple as Vitamin C therapy certainly wouldn't have been very high on their lists. I mean, after all, how could something that simple combat a disease that killed so many in such a horrific fashion (kind of like cancer, huh?). Not sure what the Germans are talking about, Jualsy, but I highly endorse Phillip Day's methods. Not to say I am closed-minded about what the Germans are talking about, just don't know what it is. I just don't have much faith in reactive medicine and no one is trying too awfully hard to prevent so many of the illnesses that plague so many.

Hi,

I'm not sure how you can compare scurvy with cancer. When scurvy was around doctors had very little understanding of medicine at all. They didn't even know how the blood circulated round the body. Most thought diseases were transmitted through smells.

However, virtually everything we know about medicine today has been discovered since the 1930s. Therefore, the way doctors practice today is totally different than a 100 years ago.

But what bothers me about the link on this thread is why some people are so against evidence based medicine for the treatment of cancer. I've read through that website, and many other anti-medicine sites and they come down to selling their wonderful remedy. These people tend to have little of no medical qualifications and speak with authority as if they're experts on the subject. They also talk about the application of treatments that are decades out of date with the purpose of scaring people away from cancer treatment.

Prevention of cancer is very important and there is a lot we can do to minmise the risks, like eating a balanced diet, not smoking, drinking in moderation and taking plenty of exercise. However, not all cancers are lifestyle based, e.g. child cancers and breast cancer.

If you really want to know how medical care has changed the world, visit the World Health Organization website.

May I refer readers to this post on the Dr Mercola thread with regard to disclaimers:

<a class="go2wpf-bbcode" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href=" https://www.healthypages.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?p=536736#post536736 "> https://www.healthypages.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?p=536736#post536736

although the book offered for sale via the first post on THIS thread only seems to carry a guarantee of a refund.

Yes i agree with above. Phillip Day is just a journalist and a business man and is living in a very large house with a very nice car off his profits, this i know. To take his untrained and unqualified advise can and has had very dangerous consequences.
