dont apologise!

hi clare, dont apologise, im very interested in what you say, really!.i've put most of my answer to you on another page about why i cant have an mri. i have only been having pain management at hope apart from my implant fitted.(see details on other page, sorry!) after my 2 lasors at the other hosp which failed i was in such a mess and went down to 8 stone by the time i got to hope, i was told they were scared they may make me even worse painwise that they said another op was not an option. dr tim johnson has been my pain management doctor. because my latest episode has been so bad i was sent to gisburne park hosp because its a lot nearer to where i live.
yes its hard work trying to sleep like you said, not being able to lie in my favourite position really bugs me.i cant lie on my bad right side, on my left side i can always hear my heartbeat,ha! it taakes ages lying on my back. the other night i tried sleeping on my front with a pillow under my tum and could'nt turn my neck next morning, lol.
your new surgeon sounds great, and sounds to have really put you at ease, thats what you want to hear, reassurance. it sounds like everythings properly organised for the big day. i wish you all the luck in the world!!!

all the best to you, daveyam, xxxx!

hi clare

hi clare, yes, i wish i had never had lasor ops! should have had fusion all those years ago thats what i think, instead of my gp putting me off, he said he did'nt trust the old surgeon at the time, and i was scared stiff so i listened to him, he was my gp after all. anyway all thats in the past. well, its 3 days to go for you, how are you feeling? xxx

hi daveyam

feeling scared gonna attempt to pack my bag today make sure iv'e got everything including my ecig it's so good i can actually have it in there,

still the same pain wise although i am getting worse but im not that concerned now as they will see for themselves im having a two level fusion l4/5 l5/s1 it was my l5/s1 that i had my discectomies on but l4/5 is bulging quite a bit that's why im having that done but i think l4/5 has gone worse on my left because as ive been saying my left side pain has gotten a lot worse it wouldn't surprise me well i suppose ill get told when it's over. i know i mentioned about how much i like my new surgeon but also i met my second surgeon who will be doing my left side and he's really nice too.

daveyam you must insist in getting something done just mither the hell out of them, it's no fun being disabled as i have found even being pushed around supermarket i get frustrated because there's things i want to look at but my hubby goes that fast that i missed it,
i only slept 2 hours again last night it's just getting more and more painful trying to lie on each side, well hubby taking kids swimming today so ill see if i can catch up on some shut eye i doubt it:mad:

well speak soon love clare xxxxxx:)

Hi Clare

Just wanted to say morning and to say try not to worry too much. Easier said than done i know, but try and think about afterwards.

Like you I had a bad night so feeling like a zombie this morning, I am kind of used to not sleeping more than an hour at a time but some nights are worse than others.

My happy thought today is my hubby. We have been together 24 years now and I love him to bits. I don't think many people would cope as well as he does with all my problems and not lose it, but he never does he's the best 🙂

Love Wend xxx

hi clare, days to go then, bet you can't wait:), of course you're nervous but you have the knowledge to know you're in safe, expert hands. you are doing great with e-cig:), do you think you will keep it up?. i smoke too,roll-ups, i know its so selfish and i should stop. i should'nt use anything as an excuse but being stuck in 90% of the time drives me nuts! even when i have one it's on the back door coz my daughter hates it. i was in so much pain my gp arranged a nearer visit for my scan, burnley general, then i visited gisburn park hospital for a consultation,i just could'nt travel to hope,i could'nt sit so long in a car!:(. hope you got some shuteye after only 2 hours kip. i was awake 'till 4.30am today. im only on 200mg of pregablin a day and 50mg fentynal patch every 72 hours. i read about medication on here that i've never even heard of. surely there must be something else my gp can give me. he always seems to give minimum meds although he did give me liquid morphine before my pregablin, the morphine never even touched the pain!
thinkin' 'bout you,:)
daveyam xxxxxx

hi daveyam

in regards to meds im on 400mg pregablin oxycodone liquid 20mls every 3 hours that's stronger than oramorph also they put me on slow release oxycontin 60 mg but didn't like it cos i was like a zombie all the time also diazapam and amitriptyline 50mg.

i think you need to go to gp and ask for increase in pregablin also stronger meds i know im still in a hell of a lot of pain but could you imagine what id be like if i wasn't on them:eek:

ill pack bag tomorrow cos im in so much pain today ive been having falls in house luckily always near something.

you make sure you get sorted.

love clare

Hey Clare,

I just wanted to see when you actually go in, whether its early on the op day or the day before. I would hate to miss saying good luck and I know when I was in the last thing I wanted to do was go on my I pad. As you are going to be in loads longer than me you might be different. However don't feel you have to post, if you feel crap just concentrate on you, we can wait and will still be here when you are ready.

Love and gentle hugs Wend xxx
