This is Jess - she can keep a glove going for days, carrying it around by the knot for hours, and is visibly upset if it should deflate, so I have to blow another one up for her! She is the same with balloons!

Hi guys at the moment im not up to posting too all I can say that the op took that long as I have blisters all over my chin very nasty and sores down the rest of my body im in a lot of pain surgeon said it took ages their was a lot of scar tissue and other complicated things it took 11 hours and ive had different people coming about my sores and they took pics thanks for your concern ill post tomorrow xxx

Hi Clare,

I hope you are feeling a little better today, I would say a lot but know its slow progress. Are you allergic to plasters? I am and they have to be very careful what they use as I blister and I wondered if that's what's caused the probs on your face. You defo didn't need that on top of such a long surgery.

I am sending you a big but gentle cuddle and hope you are feeling more like your old self very soon.

Hi guys well all i can say is that I must be the one of the unluckiest person when it comes to back surgery yes it was 11 hours my chin may be scared now I feel like I've been ib the sun all day I have positioning sores my surgeon said my nerves was that badly damaged that they were bleeding and tons of scar tissue that he had to get through I didn't think you could have that amount of scar tissue seen as though my last op wasn't that long ago also if you remember I said I was getting left sided pain but mri only shown right sided compression well I had loads of disc compression on left my left side nerve was just as badly damaged he said if I had a mri scan standing up position it would have shown it. My right leg is doing good but my left leg pain is worse then pre op the xrays was ok but may need ct scan. Im also lying on a special mattress that vibrates cos od sores and im getting blisters near wound I just wish I could send u all a pic of my chin I only seen it yesterday they would not show it to me im not very mobile left leg very numb plus pain I have to buzz and two nurses need to take me to toilet im in my own room my surgeon told me he didn't want ne on ward with too many people cos risk of infection? Im in a private room not sure if I mentioned that someone came and took pics of my sores and chin im praying this is the last of it ive had enough being kept in till at least the end of next week oh lm seing a pic of my xray tomorrow ill post tomorrow love clare oh this mattress vibrates which will do my head in xxx

Just to let you know we are thinking of you at this very difficult time. Let's hope this sorts things out for you and that you come through this so you can start to lead a more normal life. I can certainly understand that being on a vibrating matress does your head in - it would do mine too :eek:.

Peter and I are horrified by what you are going through. I am taking a slight positive in that you have managed two posts on here today but nevertheless know you are in great pain and discomfort.

As you see we are back on dry land and arrived home about an hour ago. Sorry not many posts over last fortnight but we have been in and out of internet usage and what there was has in the main been very slow indeed.

What would you like me to do. Peter is still very happy to drive me over tomorrow, but I really want you to be quite honest and say what you want. Will a visitor help to pass the time or is it all a bit of a drag. I leave it totally to you.

Hi angela id love you to come only if you feel up to it im on ward n7 room 8 visiting hours are from 2-3 then6:30-8 my stupid left leg is worse than pre op having ct scan for that but right side is wonderful it was a good job I had a complex surgeon working on me from what he said there's no wonder why I was in so much pain. Anyway I hope you both enjoyed your trip and that you weren't in too much pain love clare xx

I am in a fair amount of discomfort today after the car ride but hopefully a good soak in the bath, my wheatbags and my own bed will help.

I have got back to a letter from Mr Suroor's secretary that I have been listed for op mid August- early September.

Well I am making a day of it tomorrow at hospital. I have had a letter giving my pre op check on 25th July. Unfortunately I it is one of the two days I cannot manage in July. I phoned them this morning to explain and asked was there any chance of a cancellation. She said if you come at 8 am tomorrow morning yes. So I am coming!!! Want this earlier rather than later before his operating list gets full. After the check - I love the bit about it may take a long time and you may wish to bring sandwiches routine, we are going off to do something else we need to do in the area before returning to visit you.

That's great news angela fancy it being on the same day of visit. This hospital will be my home for a while I'll explain to you when you come to see me im in my own room apparently surgeon orders. Pre op is a pain it can take a while I had one done today in my hospital bed on my annoying mattress. See you tomorrow love clare xx

How are you getting on today Hun? I do hope things are improving for you. How is the sciatic pain now? Have you had to use the Zimmer frame, or granny wheels my kids called it, to get to the loo? It was a good idea for support but the nurses kept moving away from the side of my bed, pretty pointless if you have to walk to the end of the bed without it :p

Things here are ok, my back is feeling a bit better after my trek to Bath. My youngest is going on holiday today, only to Poole, but I am sooooo jealous. I did ask if I could tag along with him and his girlfriend but they didn't seem to keen - I wonder why

Anyway please get better soon as I miss our chats.
