hi , im 24 years old and been getting fluid on my knees since i was 16, its been getting worse more painful etc, ive just got back from the hospital today they said in my blood it shows i have it so i have to have x rays of my hands and feet and more blood tests before going back for medication,
today he injected a steroid in my knee joint which could last between a day and 12 months may stop it from swelling hopefully it works, but i dont like the idea of staying and changing all these different drugs as im so young, could anyone give me some hints in any herbs, tratments that would help my condition?
many thanks for listening emma xx

RE: rheumatoid artthiris

Heya Emma,

I saw your post in the Reiki forum and traced it through to this post, so thought I'd answer here for you. I must say I'm no expert on Arthritis, but I feel for you as I can imagine that painful joints cannot be a nice thing to have to live with.

As well as Reiki, which is wonderful, have you considered trying Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)?
You can download the manual for this technique free from the founders website at www.emofree.com under the Free Stuff section.
Here's a link from the same site which relates to [link= http://209.221.150.70/archives/archive53.htm ]EFT for Arthritis[/link].

If you want more info about EFT then drop in on the "Mind Therapies" forum on this site where people will gladly advise.

Love and Reiki Hugs

RE: rheumatoid artthiris

Hi Emma,
I have seen wonderful results for a client with RA - i think I posted somewhere about it.
I use the Bowen Technique to help them. Mobility has increased, pain has gone down, toes and hands which havent been able to move much, if at all, in years, are now gaining mobility. Its amazing, to say the least. PM me if you want to know more.
As for fluid around the joint, plain old washing soda crystals can be used as a dry poultice to draw the fluid off - an osmotic effect.
namaste,

RE: rheumatoid artthiris

Not all that have rheumatoid factor in their blood have rheumatoid arthritis (RA).

There have been several studies associating RA with food allergies / intolerances - sensitivity to wheat can be a key player with this condition.

Check the book - The Complete Guide to Food Allergy & Intolerance by Professor Jonathan Brostoff and Linda Gamlin. You should be able to pick up a cheap copy on eBay.

With regard to resolving your problems, then I would suggest you look into a treamtment called NAET. No one will insist that you have a minimum number of treatments and if they do, find another practitioner.

My knees were the first joints to be hit by arthritis, when I was 19. Knees from a spiritual perspective is about direction in life. I left a my job in industry and went down to London to do my degree in osteopathy.

Well, the free treatment from colleagues along the way really helped, but didn't completely resolve the issue. That came later when I discovered NAET.

Good luck - Andrew - and don't give up!

RE: rheumatoid artthiris

Hi Emma,
I agree with andrew, NAET is amazing.
If you had logged on as a guest, it wouldnt let you send pm - so if you did the link to the forum from an email telling you a reply was made, you probably werent logged in!
I know that if I eat certain foods, I get as stiff as a board, i hurt like hell, my joints swell, I often get a migrain with it as well. Nothing touches it and I just have to wait it out. I have had some naet, but as far as I know there isnt anyone too close to me I can get to. I havent been to a doctor, I just use my own kinesiology, reiki, bowen , aqua detox etc. And stay off certain foods, especially when I am stressed! Trouble is the trigger foods are the comfort foods I crave in times of turmoil & pressure.
So I rearrange my life and attitudes so I dont get too many of those times - its mostly monthly now..................... roll on the menopause!
Apple cider vinegar can also be helpful as a soak/poultice for inflammation.
