Info that I need could be on other threads, but where to look? So here's a new thread.

I don't to my knowledge have on-going allergies, but have had 2-3 past allergiesfor spells of 2-3 months in my life and recognise one when I get one. About 3 weeks ago, out of the blue a typical nose/throat/forehead reaction began which to me is certainly allergic. It began suddenly, and is REAL BAD [:o]though I know allergies are not 'serious'. This is always there in the background, but suddenly for NO apparent reason comes on - really suddenly - for a few hours, then recedes.

I knew Actifed works for such things as I had the same for 3 months 14 years ago, then that one just disappeared (in winter). Without Actifed I wouldn't be able to talk, work, or really go out or do sport certainly as the nasal discharge is literally constant without it, like aturned-on tap, yuk- I won't further describe that. [&:]Symtoms in my throat, nose, and forehead seem on the right-hand side only.

There's been absolutely no change in diet, no new form of dust, no environment change, no new pet, or anything I can put this down to, same as 14 years ago. There is a new duvet with down I may have to speak to my partner about ...

I slept soundly and fine last night but as soon as I got up it began hugely. Tried to limit Actifed to half a tablet (broke it in half) but it wasn't enough. However I can't take four of these ever day forever. 😉

In the similar episode around December-February in 1991 I got hold of an NSA air filter which did the trick while switched on (since I'd had a cat already for 18 months his neck was saved ;)), but this time I get it out of doors too.

Any ideas as to causes or actions to take?

Thanks,

Venetian

RE: Sudden allergy

Sounds like a Type I, classic IgE environmental allergy & an inhalant to be more precise - nose, throat & frontal sinuses - by the sound of it. This should show up on even the most basic of tests.

We can become allergic to something over night that we've previously had no problem with. It's an absolute gift to those of us working with people with allergies when it is something new in the environment or food, but unfortunately it's not always that easy.

Suggest a rummage thru the Allergy Threads- using the HP Forum Search should help. There's one were I've listed the various allergy test systems available.

If it is an allergy to some sort of particles in the atmosphere, then short of wearing a mask in a Micky Jacko (no I dare not speak his name) styli, then I don't know of a better way forward than addressing the issue with NAET.

If I remember rightly, then you've previously mentioned allergies, so it's gonna take more than one treatment. I hope there's someone near you - the database for practitioners is on here - [link= http://www.naeteurope.com/gb_default.asp ]http://www.naeteurope.com/gb_default.asp[/link]

RE: Sudden allergy

Thanks, Andrew.

I'll see who's near me as I can guess the local NHS will be useless. I'm not TOO fussed about the problem as I had something like it twice before and it just went as quickly as it came. But without the allopathic pills, just one per morning, it'd be a right mess!

Yes, it all appears pretty classic and 'normal'. I'll try to find time to look through the threads then. But just my luck, if I really get down to spending time & money on this, it'll suddenly disappear!

LOL, it sure was a good thing I'd already had my cat a while last time, in 1991, or he'd have been right out the door as a strong suspect.:D

I hope that you get better soon, David. This sounds pretty nasty to me.

Love,
Patsy.
