I do not know yet what it is. I'm probably going to see a doctor tomorrow to get it looked at, but I am freaking a bit out. I once had a bacteria infection and that was awful. I thought it was cancer though, so I could be panicking over nothing.
I got it after a week long camp in the woods, around lots of old houses. I took showers every day and I've been pretty hygienic, I've never had a rash before honestly. I never get the flu, never get colds, but I am prone to bacteria infections such as in the ear. I also never get cavities. I find it strange. I feel like a mutant.
Anyways, today I spent probably two hours in the shower. When the hot water runs on it, it burns and relieves immensely, it itches like crazy especially at night time. I also remember I pet a couple really gnatty stray dogs at the camp site. A friend thinks I'm over-reacting and jumping to worst case scenarios
How do I get rid of it? It's only in a few places now because it has mostly gone away but lasted since July!!! I can't believe I let it go on this long. I could be dying. I washed myself in hydrogen peroxide. It seemed to diminish for awhile, then came back because of the bed mattress...so this is what worries me. I may have to throw out the mattress too.
Well, I discovered something amazing just now!! I bought poison ivy itch cream, supposedly the best you can get. It did squat, in fact it made it itch worse. So I used TOOTH PASTE on all the areas. Incredible because the itchy burning is going away. tooth paste is amazing, but I need a natural remedy that gets rid of rashes.
They are basically, red bumps on my inner arms, behind my legs, nowhere on the face, but also on my ankles... and one circle of dots and a large circle, with peeled skin between it, around my breast area. It's not as bad looking as it sounds, but it itches like crazy at night.
I also wonder if it's a reaction to a medication. I started taking a stimulant called Vyvanse also around the same time I got back from the camping trip. So I'm totally lost.
It has lasted over three months. The reason I hadn't acted sooner was for a long time I thought it was poison ivy.
Hi Healthymind and welcome to Healthypages,
Sounds like you really need to get to a doctor and get a proper diagnosis of what it is, and then when it's identified you can look at what possible treatements are available to you (orthodox or complementary).
I mean, it could be something as simple as a form of eczma or it could be something viral...etc. so you really need a proper diagnosis before you treat it.

Totally agree with Giles. You need a diagnosis. But I will say both hydrogen peroxine and toothpaste are rather risky things to use on the skin. Also spending 2 hours in a shower is not god for the skin at all.
It probably is soemthing very simple and non life threatening .I am sure the doctor will be able to re-assure you. And once you knwo what the rash is, we can suggest appropriare complementary remedies to hep you. I can also on advsie on orthodox remedies .
If I'm not too late to help you, my first thing would be to advise what's been said before, don't try to treat it, although if it were me I think I would use either a moisturiser or even better, Aloe Vera gel. Let it be and if you can, don't itch it at all, that always helps!
I'd also recommend you do a small self-diagnosis, not by testing things 'products' or whatever, but by looking at what's changed within your life in the past week or so. You might've got something at the camp, or maybe that Vyvanse stuff.. But you may have also implemented something else into your life, or you're simply feeling different. It could be different food, or maybe it's even emotional. I think this is where a good Homeopath excels: a holistic diagnosis of everything that could be affecting you. But again, that Vyvanse stuff sounds ominous to me 😛
Of course this could all be pointless as you've now seen a doctor and it's all gone, but my ideas are there if you ever need them 🙂
