RE: fake cigarette

Hi
There's also the inhalitor (sp) by nicorette, it gives you a nicotine hit, it's an alternative to the patches. I did try it once but ended up chewing the thing to bits[:o]

RE: fake cigarette

Puff of 'something'? if false ciggies look identical to real ciggies, I think when the no-smoking ban comes in we will get clever dicks lighting these up just for the hell of it and then arguing 'it isn't real smoke' so we will then have to make sure false ciggies are banned as well or all hell will break loose! Sort of serious and funny this both at the same time...Roza if it is you who is wanting to stop smoking, go for it, you certainly won't regret it, on the contrary, in time, you will never believe how you did such a thing.

RE: fake cigarette

I have a friend who used the inhalator successfully, he forgot about it quite quickly and used it rarely. Had used patches to start with.

The pretend cigarettes and the inhalator don't get rid of the physical aspect of the cigarettes, one quells the craving, but it's the habit you need to break too, however you give up, the most important thing is choosing what is right for you.

RE: fake cigarette

Along comes midnite.. the begining of a new Year..
both hubby and I pick up our pack of cigs.. matches lighters and ashtrays.. dump them in the bin OUTSIDE the house.. hug and know this is going to be hard..
Well it is day two.. no cigs, no patches just him and I. The mood is a bit tense, so we seem to be similing at each other.. rather more than we should. We agree it is for the best..
No more idle hands, sewing basket is out, he is using every tool and for every job around the house, just to make sure NO IDLE HANDS..
Will keep you posted..
😀

Keep up the good work guys!

Just persevere and think of all the great things you can do now you've graduated from the addiction!

RE: fake cigarette

Good luck to all who are trying to quit smoking.
Try to be strong and remain positive about the reasons you want to stop.

Just wanted to share my experience with you
Decided to quit 2 years ago, for many reasons.
Previously, managed to stop whilst pregnant but spent a least 6 months thinking about cigs and stressing.
Not good.
Started smoking after child was born, so was not really set on quitting.
So, this time, got help via gp and patches on prescription. When things became tough, thought about how good it would feel to be a non smoker and beat the addiction. Concentrated on the positives of being free.
When the course of patches finished, Through gp, I started using inhalator. So when those moments came, when I felt I really needed a cig, I would have a quick puff and the desire for a cig would go.
So having just had party season, I took inhalator with me in case I was tempted, but never needed to use it.
I know this sounds as though I use it as a crutch, but it does stop me from smoking a cig.

So, if your willpower is starting to wane, just remember there is help available from your gp and nrt.

Sunflower
x
