Hi John- So sorry to hear of your Mother's illness. Check the forum on cancer. There is a wealth of knowledge there especially the post of Jualsy entitled 'Totally Cured' from June 2006. I am experiencing good results with my cancer with the nutritional and supplemental approach. I believe with all my heart this disease can be cured even at this stage.

My best wishes to you and your Mother.

Hiyas John, welcome to HP. Soz to hear of your mothers problems with Cancer. Hope you find some good information in the Cancer forum.

I have Family who found out they have the big C last year, it's never easy, but their coping well, I think for them, it's benign. My mom's dog suddenly developed a malignant tumour earlier this year, had 2 succesful OP's to remove as much as possible over the last 3 months, but he's still not good, we doubt he will last the next couple of months.

Hope your mom can get some relief from it.

RE: pancreatic cancer

Hi John - so sorry to hear your Mum is going through the mill. I had a good friend who sadly succombed to pancreatic cancer at Christmas. She was 48, and had been told 3 years ago that she had 6 months to live. She beat the odds by sheer determination. She lived life to the full, refused chemo, ate and drank (quite alot actually - bit of a party girl!) what she liked and amassed speeding fines around country roads as she visited friends and family - she alsowent to expensive spas for the most luxurious treatments!!! Last summer, she went for a check up and was told that it had spread, so agreed to chemo with radiotherapy later, but declined the treatment after the second dose of chemo, as it made her more ill than she could cope with. Up until Christmas she was cared for at home by a phalanx of friends and family. She walked her dogs for as long as she could. Her friends made sure that she had some form of complementary treatment every day - massage, IHM, aromatherapy - I came in during the latter stages as she developed lymphoedema.

Apart from the advice in the postsabove about possible treatments, the main thing is to remain as supportive and positive as you can with your Mum - get someone to give her some relaxation in any form, and talk to the Macmillan nurses who may now be involved - they really area terrificgroup of professionals.

Hugs for you too.
