I'm thinking that the next hurricane should be called hurricane Trump...maybe a wake up call?

If there are no more hurricanes until we get to 'T', we'll be very lucky!

I read a suggestion recently that we give hurricanes the names of climate change deniers and those who make their money from ignoring environmental degradation. Trump would fit into those categories nicely.

George Monbiot is saying that 'climate change' sounds too benign. He suggests 'climate breakdown'.

Completely agree with climate break down! What is "T" state of being?

Hurricanes are named alphabetically. So another 7 (missing out Q) before T.

I read an article that said more people get killed by storms with female names, because they do not believe they can be so dangerous, and therefore take fewer precautions!

Well, for those directly affected by hurricane Irma, I think the word is TRAGIC!

I was thinking about solicitors and the illusion of power. We employ them and pay them to benefit from their knowledge. We forfeit control whilst they act on our behalf to represent us. However, should they abuse their power (e.g. a breach of trust - blatantly disobeying an instruction in a manipulative move) then their illusion of power is revealed. I just sacked my solicitor!

I think that it is all a game. Unfortunately we have to play by their rules. They make the rules and they apply them. It is not about justice.

Well you missed my point! When it's no longer about justice, the CLIENT has the power to pull the plug! WE employ them! They are supposed to honour instructions or suggest suitable legal alternatives, i.e. not behave in an underhanded, abusive way (although, of course, they have a reputation for this).

Not too sure that all legal representatives are underhanded or abusive, but I do know that you have to play by the rules. If a legal representative is negligent then there are usually organisations that will step in and protect the clients interest.

Yes I know. I reported him to the manager of that branch. Solicitors have a reputation for fleecing their clients, e.g. extortionate rates!

Hi Amy
If it happens again go to the Law Society. Managers just bury complaints.
