Our mother is quite distraught by this situation since she felt we would all be happy in being well provided for. It's a very sad state of affairs but, I realise, quite common (i.e. will disputes); however, what's disgraceful and unforgiveable is that this is taking place whilst she is still alive.

[COLOR="Green"]Thanks but as I mentioned I have cancelled my birthday celebration (not our mother's) since they are not even on talking terms - it would just serve as a reminder of a broken family unit. I intend to spend the day well though i.e. do something with it. 😉
