[COLOR="Green"]How much better the world would be if we all walked the talk, i.e. didn't just pay lip service to our beliefs but put them into action consistently. :048:
Very true Amy. 🙂

I am thinking about the differences between giving yourself Reiki and someone else giving you Reiki

[COLOR="Green"]To point out the obvious then...er, it's what I am currently thinking about!!!
I'm currently thinking about how money is a manifestation of power in our 3rd dimensional reality. And how perhaps my long path towards standing in and accepting my own personal power is also connected to my ability to have money. It's been a long road towards being OK with accepting my own personal power - and perhaps the lack of money I've experienced has been an outward manifestation of that.
I realised that I had deep issues around money/power because I really hate how people with money often abuse others because of the power it gives them or the power they want to keep. I recently considered that it's the choices people make - not the money that are responsible for the abuse.
[COLOR="Green"]Just read the above post....somewhat poignant for my current situation. I am currently thinking about how sad it is that this will be the first time my brother and sister will not be able to be together here on my birthday (end of this month) due to putting materialistic values before their relationship. They are not talking to each other since they are currently heatedly disputing (via emails and myself as gobetween/football) who gets what in my mother's will - all the more unsavoury and disgraceful since she is still alive!
oh dear... that happened in my family in regards to my grandmother...everyone was arguing about who would get what before she even passed. Then the relative who had been the most aggressive about it passed away first. Ironic - since she spent her life paranoid about money and possessions and then passed on before any of them came to be hers anyway... We found a diamond ring hidden in her jewelry box that no one had ever seen before. So it seems that even the "wealth" that she did have she did not feel secure enough to enjoy.
Made me think about the whole "being ready to stand in your power" thing. She clearly wasn't... and it was easier to focus on the wealth of others that she felt should be hers - rather than recognise what was her (and is all of ours as our birthright) anyway...
Fascinating stuff!!
How do you feel about being their go-between Amy?
[COLOR="Green"]Yes it is sad what the pursuit of wealth can do to people. How I feel about it is summed up in my signature below. I feel empowered in who I am, at peace without being financially successful. Being assessed/evaluated materialistically holds no interest to me whatsoever. I am secure and strong in my spirituality.
You ask how I feel about being a go-between. Well, I am a full time carer for my mother (live with her) so it has impacted negatively on my ability in this role, i.e. made it far more stressful than it should be. I have put my foot down though re. the possibility of them going to court with it all. I have high blood pressure and, apart from finding the whole business so distasteful, I will not endanger my health because of their greed. I have flatly told them that I will not be going to court to support either of them. (They are both trying to get me on their side and I don't want to lose either of them). My mother is behind me on this. I am hoping for some sort of reconciliation before my birthday but that seems highly unlikely currently.
Wow...that sounds really intense... is there some deeper issue between them that they are now fighting out with the will as an excuse?
Good for you for saying no to their drama... And I'm truly sorry that one of the results of their drama means you can't all spend your birthday together.
So - since that doesn't seem like it's going to happen at this time - how would you like to spend your birthday in a way that celebrates you?
I don't know about you, but I love cake!! 🙂
Thanks Lauren - that's a sweet post. 🙂
No, it's just about the money with them two. He is not playing fair (since he was paid out some 10 years ago but there's the equity issue...grey areas).
Well I am having the day off (from full time caring) i.e. a care support worker steps in whilst I can leave the house...so will have to really live it up won't I?! :p
Yes you will!! A good friend of mine cares for her 94 year old aunt (she moved her into her own home a few years ago after she had a fall) and I know just how much a day off and really boost her whole week! Caring for others is no easy task - and you've just really got to have the personality and patience for it. So - yeah - think big for your special day! You deserve it!!!
By the way - does anyone know how you can add a "signature" to your posts? I see that many people have them - but I don't know how to make one!
xx
Hi Amy. I was my daddies carer and he been gone two years now. I am the youngest of 8 and only 1 other sibling came to see him, but they did fall short of grabbing all before he died.
Everything was left to me and there was only the house but they all thought there was money here, and they were entitled. Lots of word slinging so I don't speak to any of them now. I feel for you, please get yourself as much care as you are giving to your mother:) Have massages and time out, I know your mum would not mind. Make sure that there is someone there for you too hun, it's hard work I know .Well done to you, stay strong and have a good Birthday( don't know when it is ):Dxx
Top post, Rayne.
birthday
Amy....Did you get to have a good birthday?..have things improved a little for you? xx

Very sweet of you to enquire. It's on the 28th and am sending my brother & sister an email tomorrow cancelling the celebration. Mostly it's because my heart's not in it (i.e. would mean 2 separate celebrations since they are not even on talking terms which would not be exactly cheerful) also to act as a wake up call (hoping for a resolution still) and a bit of a guilttrip.
Our mother is quite distraught by this situation since she felt we would all be happy in being well provided for. It's a very sad state of affairs but, I realise, quite common (i.e. will disputes); however, what's disgraceful and unforgiveable is that this is taking place whilst she is still alive.
