In honor of cupid's big day it's only fitting to direct our attention towards this hearts and flowers kind of holiday with renewed interest in fueling the flames of passion. I know what you're probably thinking - romance is the last thing on your mind after a hectic day at the office, and an even more exhaustive evening of dealing with dinner, homework, bath and bedtimes. By the time your weary head hits the pillow the luxury of sleep is all that's on your mind.

When it comes to brain power, muscle power, and how efficiently we use our time, the theory that, 'If you don't use it you'll lose it' often comes into play. The theory also applies to the power of love. Once Cupid's arrow has struck it's not as difficult as you think to keep the desire for one another lively and amusing.

Miscommunication is perhaps the biggest reason why women seem to suffer headaches on a regular basis.Taking steps to appreciate the big picture can help to keep the Tylenol in the medicine cabinet while restoring romance in the bedroon.

It's all in the way we look at it which, at times, takes a lot of creative thinking, on our part, but well worth the effort.

In marriage we vow to love and honor our husbands. After many years of marriage it is a wife, wealthy in wisdom, who values the unspoken vow of deciphering her husband's language of love, which is indeed spoken in a language all his own.

How many times do we women feel insulted when our husbands lead us into Victoria's Secret as they browse through the lingerie showing us what they want for their birthday?I've had the temptation to strangle my Romeo, right there in the store, with the size 6 satin negligee he holds up to my nowmore endowed frame. But, in his language of love all he's saying is that he still sees his bride as svelteand sexy asthe day he married her. I've learned to accept it as a compliment that my honey still sees me as Victoria's Secret material when I know I belong at Donna Claire.

While most wives see a candle lit dinner for two as invitingly romantic, her husband's own prelude to a romantic evening can be debatable. He'll point to the fact that, love is on his mind as he washes dishes, loads the washer and runs the vacuum across the carpet. It takes years of experience for a wife to appreciate that these chores, done as a token of his love and affection, are practical gestures that speak louder than words, from his point of view. If you think about it, doesn't the sight of a clean kitchen and empty laundryhamper make for an evening of spontaneous romance? I know it works for me~ the cleaner the house the more amorous I feel!

Men and women; we define romance in different ways - but if we ever expect to have and to hold, the whimsy of wedded bliss, we need to really listen to the language of our husband's love.It will serve us well all the days of our married lives.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY
Roses are red, violets are blue,
May the language of love be heard by you.

Thanks Queenfe.
AnyPartnership is based on teamwork..........how it works is down to the couple involved and the magic of that partnership

Romance is about togetherness .....and making that time together special , whether you're hoovering or out for a special occassion...........It's about the "Intention".....you can have a good time anywhere "You " have to make it special. ....

Blessings

You two 'apples' are very lucky.

I was told that there were no cards in the card shop. 🙁 He MUST have missed the special display of them .................... Sob, sob.
BUT he DID say YOU HAVE MY HEART.

Awwwwwwwwwwwww.

Love to you two apples.

RE: The Language Of Love "Valentines day"

Didnt see this post until today - dont know how in the world i missed it....

well, considering we are on a very tight budget, he doesnt work, and we act like its valentines day every day anyways.....

in the morning he got up and made sure i had all my belongings in order so that i could sleep 20 min more....then gave me a huge bear hug and kicked me out the door for work.....

while i was at work i send him about a dozen email cards - and he sent me some back as well, we talked, called throughout the day to say mushy stuff as we always do....

i came home, he had vaccumed, dusted, made yoghurt, cleaned the kitchen, and was willing to walk with me down to our organic store in the snow just for some chocolate milk i had been craving.....

we came home, ate left overs, talked, drank our choco milky and ate some of his fav spice cake......

quiet evening, didnt do much, but i loved every minute.....

no flowers, no jewelry, nothing special to anyone else - but it was one of the best valentines days i have ever had (our first physically together)

1st val together we were apart in Iraq....2nd val together we were apart waiting on his visa (him in Kosov, me in US)..so this is the first we will have been physically together - and it was great.....

Much Love!

Ada

RE: The Language Of Love "Valentines day"

i am sorry to hear that dreamer - but look at it from an optimistic point of view -

maybe your hubby just thought it another wonderful day to love you and apretieate you as he has done everyday?

valentines day didnt mean much to my hubby either - he said it would have been nice to do something for me - but he loves me everyday - and feels he shows it everyday - so why have to 'prove it' in one day - expecially when i had to work anyways.....

love is a 365 24/7 thing....some men love thier wives throughout and show throughout.....maybe he was planning something and it completly fell through - and instead of telling you it fell through he just said he forgot which is easier.....

he might be saving it up for the weekend when he knows you can apretieate it better as well, and actually spend 2 days 'celebrating' instead of just a few hours on that day......who knows!

HTH

that's so lovely ada, i'm pleased you had a nice day.. 🙂

and dreamer, as long as your hubby tells you he loves you, that's all you need..;)

well.. ade and i cheated (much to our daughters disapproval) and we opened our pressies on the tuesday night, we just couldn't wait, plus it's one of the rare times we get to be alone, late at night.. i got a dozen red roses, a chocolate teddy bear from thorntons with the words 'love you always' iced onto it and a gorgeous wooden carved elephant.. but the thing that made me happiest was the card.. it was so beautiful, had a picture of a fairy on it, but inside he had written a poem that he had searched on the internet for..

that meant more to me than anything.. i had tears in my eyes..[sm=love-smiley-009.gif]
