Has anyone started, or even done their christmas shopping yet?
I haven't started yet, but hope to buy one present at the end of the month starting in October, and be done by the first two weeks of December.
Warmest wishes- calla lily x
I found some brilliant pressies yesterday - they look expensive and are quite cheap. They are Jewellery stands and little decorative shoes to put rings in from Bentalls in Kingston. I bought 8 presents for less than £60, and I normally average £15 on these nieces and friends! Shhh don't tell! I'm sure they'll love them, they are really pretty.
I wasn't Christmas shopping - I'm just an opportunist!

No. Last year I ordered most of my stuff from an eco friendly and fair trade site, I give my brother money (hes 28), I also buy gifts that give for people.
I dont dislike Christmas but Im not one of these people who goes overboard, far too many people end up in debt due to trying to get people presents.
Theres too much pressure on people these days. I was in a supermarket last week and not only were the cards out, there were special chocolate xmas limited edition bars.
Some young people I work with dont have families or people who will spend on them and Im sure a lot of people would like to give kids, relatives lots of presents but cant afford it.
Personally, I dont care if someone buys me something worth 2 quid, its the thought that counts.
😮 No not even thought about Christmas yet! I have at least four family birthdays before Christmas and they take precedence. Maybe think a bit about it in November.
You got some really good bargains there spinal music, my lips are sealed!;)
I agree Crystaltherapy, christmas has become pressurised. When i was younger, I used to take out loans until the penny dropped a few years ago that it wasn't worth getting into debt for just one day. Only my children and two close relatives get presents, the others are sent a card.:)

now youve got me panicking calla lily....only 94 days to sort it out!!
I did see that M and S have put out some christmas puddings

Both my husband and I come from large families and at one time we had 44 presents to buy at Christmas!! It was our family 'tradition' when the girls were young to go Christmas shopping in July/Aug when the summer sales were on and buy most of the presents then lol. Trouble was, by the time Christmas came I would have forgotten who was getting what!
Now we limit presents to those under 18yrs of age which thankfully is not so many now.
I have already put a few things by and got a few more on order so hopefully Christmas will be less of a rush this year.

I'm going to start a petition up to ban the Christmas word until mid November.
I too have quite a lot of birthdays to contend with, Ive got 2 x 40ths, 2 nieces, husband's (Dec 6) and son's (Dec 15). Plus lots more that will just be a card.
Has anyone started, or even done their christmas shopping yet?
Yes I have. No intentionally but I had an email from the local Indoor Arena (coz i've been to concerts there before) that the xfactor tickets were on sale. So I bought 6 tickets for our family (myself included) and will give them as presents, and will be an extra nice gife when they realise that we're all going together 🙂 (got good seats too!)
First time I've ever done xmas shopping in September!!
But i do LOOOVE xmas - young kid at heart 🙂
Christmas?
Now Behave everyone we haven't even got Halloween and Bonfire night out the way.
I keep a box under my bed and collect presants throughout the year and put them away in it (seems to work really well) Liddel and Aldi are good for bit throughout the year.
Becoming part of the Heritage seed library would be a great preant for a gardener. They preserve the old seed varieties that the dear 'ol EEC won't let us buy as they are not registered in their (very exspensive) seed catologue.
Nearly off topic,but not quite.
I may make Raindeer this year as pressies (They r made out of wood and have twigs as antlers) Blue Peter eat your heart out!
Helen 🙂
i buy all year to spread the cost of christmas i love the sales i always get my cards and crackers for less than half price. but i do love the run up to christmas decorating the house ( it does look like santas grotto)the baking and the kids getting all excited, my two youngest who are still at home now have said they do not believe in santa so i piece of coal for them this year:011: but my little grandaughter who is three will be so excited and i have just got a new one last week so many years of looking at their excited faces
I haven't started yet but I am not looking into gift ideas.
There's 79 days left now- eekarama!
Warmest wishes- calla lily x
79 days! ooh blimey....better get my skates on :dogrun: Last year it was left until the last minute and I don't want it to be repeated this year.
Gotta admit I have started (bits anyway). I have bought some new decorations as I am having two trees this year! My old faithful artificial green tree and this year I have a black tree so have bought some wicker pentagrams etc for it so far and some funky led blue lights.
I have also bought a few little presents but not main presents yet! It seems to get harder each year.
Good luck everyone!
