Hey guys, I'm super new on this, and I would really like your help! For my senior project, i've decided to obtain some knowledge about acupressure. I've done an extensive research on the topic, but it seem like such a broad topic, and was wondering if there was like one area on the body where there are main points, and easy to remember. I need to also present my knowledge of acupressure, and if you have any ideas on how I can present it, that would be super awesome too.
Thanks everyone
Accupressure comes under the umbrella of meridian therapies (I'm not an acupressure therapist, so no doubt there'll be some out there who disagree with that lol!)
If you look up Meridian energy channels, or Meridian Charts, you'll see there are major and minor meridians, which are also used by Accupuncture, EFT, and many other therapies.
Maybe this will help you in relation to finding the "main points" you are looking for.
What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is one of the main branches of Traditional Chinese medicine. It facilitates the healing of physical, emotional, and mental disease. Acupuncture is performed by inserting hair thin needles into acupuncture points that may be located on the arms, legs, back, or even in the ear.
Acupuncture points are found along 14 specific pathways running throughout the entire body. These pathways are called meridians. Each one of these meridians has specific organ systems, emotions and anatomical locations that they connect to. For example: If a patient has stomach ulcers, our medical providers may choose acupuncture points along the stomach meridian to treat the ulcer. If anxiety accompanies a patient complaint then our providers may also add points along the heart meridian.
