Speaking with my reiki master today before my 1st attunement and discussing some of my reiki experiences, like astral travel, time travel etc. she made a comment on me being a "Crier"
can anyone explain this to me? Im not sure what she meant.
Most spiritual, mystical things are open to high jack and projection from practitioners.
Reiki, is the most common healing amongst masses. All kinds of special effects are attached. Practioner with fertile imagination and ...astral travel, time travel, added symbols, akashic records.....you name it. New terms are being coined on daily basis...with the help of same imagination.
Crier- ask the teacher, she said it.
The most important thing for understanding and working with energy is that if rightly approached, it will make you and your life simple, humble and surrendered -fun and light. But that is not necessarily the focus of most are kicks that people seek to compensate for joy of simplicity.
Projections become necessary because majority of folks find it hard to adhere with simplicity. Specialness is what they seek and propagate. All healing happens quite by itself, just because we learn to channel it in specific way does not mean that we are in charge of the process. We play along.
The whole point of opening up to energy is to become open and available to play of energy and recognise that as much as we like to pretend that we control her, she remains playfully autonomous.
Stick with the original principles of reiki. Even Dr usui would not understand all that people have added to his simple straight forward gift to all.
Hope all this make any sense?

This is so true Jnani,
Having studied several 'forms' of Reiki style healing techniques, the simplest and most effective were those that were just Reiki as it was intended. Jikiden Reiki was the closest (lineage wise) to Usui sensei that I have studied and it's simplicity was obvious. Westernised Reiki had a few additions or changes, especially in terms of contra-indications and formal process, though not so much in actual practice. Something like Helen Belot's Sekhem on the other hand was full of many add-on symbols and beliefs, apparently having being channelled from Sirius, yet many of the symbols are 'new agey' or corruptions of original Japanese Reiki. IMO, It was an overly complex system of healing, with symbols for all sorts of different things, whereas traditional Reiki works more simply with the three symbols for physical, emotional and distance/spiritual, which already covers everything.

Energyles, Like you, I was lucky that my reiki teacher was a simple woman.
Not that I practiced reiki for long at all, it was an initiation, if you like, in the so called "healing and alternative" world. Boy! What a lot of non sense is paddled, promoted and floated into ether...al for a feel good factor for ego.
Sirius, other galaxies, alternate time space, the bigger the concept, the better, it is for holier than thou feel for practitioner. We Don't know what is happening in the pinky of my left hand yet, claiming to know what alien wise men have to say....
The only thing that strikes me about usui, is that he seems simple man. Reflects in his method and teaching....but for most of us that is apparently not striking enough!
Are you sure she didn't mean it literally? Perhaps she sensed you were an emotional being...
