I have been really depressed lately 🙁 and all I see or hear is negativity. I thought it would be nice if everyone could put down one happy thought, event etc to cheer me, and others up:).

Mine is:-

Got wolf wistled for the second day on the trot. Not bad for a 63 year old. But, here's the punch line - it was by a gorgeous starling in the tree on the Village Green. Made me smile though, and remember the days when there were so many wolf wisles that I got fed up with them:rolleyes: Never mind - I love starlings:rolleyes:

Seeing the surprise & delight on my Mother-in-law's face when she came into the party the family had secretly arranged for her 80th birthday last night.

I have just completed a weekend seminar of Qi Gong in Wimbledon. It's always great to learn new skills. We also went out to a Chinese for dinner on Saturday night and our Si-gong (grand teacher) ordered everything, so we ate authentic Chinese food, some of which I did not recognise.
Cheer up Gilliebaen:):D:)

Hello Gill

My happy event was just this morning - walking along a beach in Norfolk which was home to hundreds of seals! Just seeing them all basking there in the pale spring sunshine made my heart glow!

Mine was yesterday when I looked at my daughter in the hairdressers after having her hair cut and thought, she is so beautiful and nearly all grown now. The really happy bit though is that he seems to be having a less rebelious phase at the moment and it is nice to have my wee girl back even if its only for a short time before the teen stuff kicks back in.

Hope you are feeling better Gilliebean, sending love and positive thoughts your way.
Linda x

Hi gilliebean, sorry to hear you've not been too good. Nice topic though. My recent happy moment - whilst taking a break from doing over the garden on Saturday, sitting back on my heels and watching the robin come down to the feeder just a few feet away, sitting there watching me watch it. And hearing, albeit not seeing, the sound of the buzzard high above, no doubt taking advantage of the thermals :).

I looked out the window this morning and a blackbird was having a bath...what's amazing about that perhaps??

Well, we complain about all the rain sometimes, but because of that puddle on the driveway, the little fella had a great bath, ruffled it's feathers and swayed side to side, dipped its head under a few times (bit like a duck would), scratched it's head with its foot, danced a few circles too.. it gave me a giggle anyway. Just wish I could have video'd it..

I don't know why this made me laugh but I usually walk along a narrow path with hedges on both sides. There is always a cat sitting in the middle of the path I walk along. As I get closer, the cat gets up and jumps into the hedge. But this time the cat couldn't be bothered and just lay down belly-up on the the path as I walked by! 😀

I picked up my 9 month old great-niece from her childminder yesterday, upon seeing me, she gave me the most beautiful beaming smile and crawled over to geet me. It made my day and everytime I think about it, it brings a smile to my face and think what a wonderful little soul she is.
