Giles, I'm astonished at you! 🙂

It is actually to me a subject which goes deep into economics, and that won't be understood by many. They "get it" largely in the original New York protests which are a few weeks in. It could literally change the world, starting from New York, as the world's economic system changes everything. No, I don't mean Left-Right which is a trick played upon people to even belive that parties differ so much. Behind all that there's a history going back many centuries about the nature of money. THAT is what New York may change. I've been supporting it over the net for a month.

I'm concerned that in Europe people don't "get it". They don't understand the nature of money and banking the way Americans are waking up to. In London there have been placards such as "Capitalism is Crisp" or "Banks are Evil". This is childish and factually wrong.

I hope there's no violence in Europe, but the hope lies in America - they might - just MIGHT - elect someone called Ron Paul in 2012 - and that would change the world almost as Mayans predicted! To get rid of fractional banking and return to a gold standard would change the face of everything, and all our lives.

Change was needed and it began in New York. And the first people there were amazingly savvy and erudite about money and banking.

I don't think, alas, it's "fantastic" at all here. The needed changes are not about being Left - or Right - it's beyond all that. But some Left-wingers are trying to get a big say, as though it is anti-Capitalism. In the true sense of Capitlaism, it's not that at all. I respect that people want change, but they don't know what they are talking about in London so far. Sorry! Many do in New York!

Watch this short clip, THIS is what it's all about. Young men like this are our hope as he understands it all. 🙂 I hope others will take it in?

What he's saying there is that inflation aka "quantitative easing" - a wonderful euphemism - is legalised theft. In the UK we need to get rid of the Bank of England, which is PRIVATELT owned and run! What a heist.

But it does mean we have some hard years ahead. There is simply no solution for a few years to that. To strike for "more money" is infantile and irrational. It doesn't exist, it never did: it was a balloon-money or unreal. We have to get through some hard times, and get a leader like America's Ron Paul candidate; then start real money which CANNOT be inflated as it's based only on paper notes being issued - NOT by the Bank of England which must be ended - but paper notes which truly redeem themselves against hard wealth i.e. gold. So you can take your paper into any bank and get gold in return if you wish.

When I say *fantastic* I'm talking about the fact that "so far" it hasn't been ruined be *riots* ....people are getting together and saying "NO!!"....I'm really hoping it stays this way..it's sad that only when things do turn nasty does it hit the front pages..the groups in london seem to be getting it together imho Occupy the London Stock Exchange

Yes, Amy, let me say I think it IS fantastic that people are doing something in London too. In fact it's amazingly few people (so far).

But although every world-city has different voices and opinions in this Occupy movement - for that is how it should be - in Europe people are just not savvy. they are "against" this or that, but not "for" anything logical and that is the difference. I've backed all this for 4 weeks, but I'm concerned that sectional or minority groups in Europe will just take it over and become violent TBH.

And even the main movement is not making total sense if you take their voices as a whole.

However, yes, I'm glad that peaceful demos are happening against what has been a madness in government and banking going back several decades. Hm, but will it stop them, the bankers and politicians. I doubt it, much, here.

A person would have to be intimate with the US political scene as I frankly am to understand. It really has to begin there in the USA. Fractional banking and fiat money must go under. I mean, if anyone doesn't even know what I mean, there is no meaningful dialogue - and that's what I mean (4th time of using the word!) about Europe. 🙂

We need to bring down the Bank of England which is NOT a part of our government - that's a ploy, with Her Majesty on the notes... it is owned by private people who inflate our money without a say-so from the people, and that is a huge hidden tax on us all. Inflation must end. No more bail-outs!

HP is very quiet now compared to 6-8 years ago, so who really reads this?

well I sense a global uprising, whilst I've been following it on FaceBook (not so much twitter...can't get to grips with that lol,) people seem to be communicating and so long as this continues, without anger or finger pionting and blame ect I would like to believe something will come of it

I've backed all this for 4 weeks, but I'm concerned that sectional or minority groups in Europe will just take it over and become violent TBH.

this is my concern..excuse me for sounding paranoid but I have always thought that the violence is organised....there was a london march this year...the students I think, where there is you tube footage of a *rioter/thug* flashing his *ID* to police (who let him through) before smashing windows, if you like I will try and find it....as you no doubt know, emotions can run high on these things and people will just fall into a state of rage, I hope this will not happen here, so far I have massive respect for those camping out at St Pauls right now and in previous nights

News today is that they are moved on because the religious place itself couldn't function? I suppose people couldn't get in or didn't understand? And I frankly can understand that.

A real protest would have to be in the true City. Outside the Bank of England. Peaceful but determined - yet as I say, "savvy" about the return to real money we need, and not taken over by Lefties (or Righties). It is not about Left-Right.

If I still lived in London, work permitting, I'd be part of it.

Oh dear, I hope not, he supports taking away government student loans and letting the free market sort out education, because that worked so well for health over there, haha! Ah no I like the sentiment of the occupy movements but they don't seem to have much of an organised message.

I agree with the last part. I've seen placards such as "Capitalism is Crisp" and "Banks are Evil". That's a total misunderstanding of how an economy works. They don't understand what "capitalism" means, and banks are neutral like the gasses or plants - there can be good, even essential ones, and then awful ones. It depends on the system.

.... and 90% of the London "occupiers" aren't there at night! You have to start to wonder who some of them are, and the motives of some. There's a danger global protests might just become violent protest against hard times, which times are now unavoidable.

Good, thanks for the - quite humorous - link. (I mean the music made it light-hearted 🙂 .)

Anyway, as Paul Merton commented last night, thermal imaging must only be to detect how many people inside a tent are wearing thermals? 🙂
