All I know, S, is that I keep trying to play the "Benefit For Bangladesh" double-CD set I ordered from amazon, and it doesn't play right. The title is smeared from the post I guess, but I can still read "Benefit ... " Yet somehow, I keep putting it in my PC and just getting a load of figures, sort codes and addresses on my screen. Useless!

P.S. Do your amazon orders come with personalised notes? These Benefit for Bangladesh CDs had a post-it in with them. Just says, "Darling1". Oh, maybe it's not a message to me at all, but a complex password?

Well, I'm glad you have something coming lol!

Last week I had two letters arrive the same day, both from Inland Revenue. I opened one and it was from Working Family Tax Credit dept saying that they have looked into my case of overpayments and have found that I owe nearly three thousand pounds and sorry if I am not happy with their response but there is no right to appeal. I opened the next letter and it was from Child Benefit dept apologising for the fact that I am on one of the disks gone missing and they are very sorry and it won't happen again! So, I make a mistake (which I didn't which is why there was an investigation) and they will not let me appeal, but they make a mistake and I have to just accept their apololgy!!!!

Pardon me if I laugh but that is so typical of the Govt depts.
I received a letter today, addressed to my old address in the uk,telling me that my oapension is now ready to be paid in to my Oz account, two days after it has already been paid in!
So now I have to make a phone call from Oz to the uk,telling them to get the address right before the postal redirection runs out!
(throwing my hands up in horror)

If it turns out to be as reported then obviously it's very serious because these matters are kept under lock and key for good reason," he said.

This was obviously not under lock and key! You would think there would be strict procedures in place to ensure these things stay 'under lock & key'! Very careless and the guy deserves to be suspended. However, in the end he will probably get a slap on the risk or a golden handshake to go away! More of our taxpayers money going on another enquiry?

Just more fuel to the fire! Today's report on how many laptops have been stolen from the Government

http://uk.news.yahoo.com/itn/20080718/tuk-mod-admits-hundreds-of-laptops-stole-dba1618.html

Do we REALLY want to entrust all our details (bio-metric as well as personal) to this Government, or ANY government come to that???
