I have read with interest many threads here that touch the terrorism issue and the general fear that it causes people, burka topic being a great example.

Here is some food for thought though, reading these have made me think again...maybe the terrorists are not who the media and government is making it sound like...

on the liquid bombs that have changed the way we fly these days...

On the actions of CIA...

[link= http://www.huppi.com/kangaroo/CIAtimeline.html ]http://www.huppi.com/kangaroo/CIAtimeline.html[/link]

And on double standards... (easily offended people should perhaps not read this one)

It just makes me think...what can you believe these days? I mean REALLY are news always the truth as we have been made to believe?

RE: Alternative view on terrorism

Reuters sacked one of their photographers and removed all his photos from their online library because he was 'doctoring' both photos and situations in the Lebanon war to make Israel look much worse than was the fact.

Orla Geurin (I think that's how her name is spelt) hasn't been seen on the BBC since her very questionable news item in the same war in which she reported that a Lebanese town almost totally wiped out and showed very selective shots. As it happens there was a Channel 4 reporter and photographer coming along behind her and filming the same area on the same day at about te same time - he showed the town standing with just some damage on the very edges! Unknown to each other they both posted their reports. Orla's was totally discredited by the Channel 4 report.

People who were shown as 'dead' mysteriously came to life and appeared in other shots, days later - these pictures having been taken by photographers from USA national papers. One had a town apparently on fire - on enlarging the photo it was clear that the smoke had been 'doctored' with a computer to make it billow more! Another showed, on enlargement, that a shot of a town on fire was, in reality, a tyre dump on fire, but shot from such a low position that it appeared to be the houses on fire!

Biased, or what?

RE: Alternative view on terrorism

I generally avoid news these days, I might catch up once a week just so that I have an idea of what is going on, but it is getting to a point when it is hard to believe all the bull that is coming through news and one can end up living very fearful and depressed life watching all the news all the time....
Bias indeed.

RE: Alternative view on terrorism

Hi Amaris,

It's good to see the links and to keep the subject in mind. I don't know if you'll know all the (rather looong at times) threads on HP under Current Affairs on this?

There's the one you've found on the "UK terror plot". There's a long one on being sceptical about 9/11. And what it maybe all boils down to is "false flag operations" such as discussed in this thread:

[link= http://www.healthypages.net/forum/tm.asp?m=391533 ]http://www.healthypages.net/forum/tm.asp?m=391533[/link]

So I think the subject of terrorism being conducted in fact by one's own government upon their people is worth at least keeping open.

On the above thread a number of false flag operations (making it seem as though someone else did it) are outlined. It's a known and reasonably common strategy. Conspiritualist also in that thread brings in the subject of "Gladio", the code-name for ultra-secret pockets of people that even European governments didn't know existed until a few years ago. Their main task is to cause acts of terror and make it look as though someone else did them, in order to effect national feeling - such as to back a strong government, or to get a population to agree to go to war. Sound familiar?

Gladio isn't a conspiracy "theory" but a known fact, that they exist ... somewhere.

V

Just got linked this and I feel it is very interesting. Read the story, and then read the bit in the red box.

RE: Alternative view on terrorism

HI FAS,

Being the hectic Christmas and all, I couldn't yet delve into your link, but Bush has said "God told me" to invade Iraq, yes.

I haven't got much time, but would love to suggest that this be an HP thread or, much more importantly, a research topic for mainstream news. What are we, the public, to make of it?

BTW does it link in with the current threads on channelling? Look them up under Spirituality. Is this "channelling?" so to say? I mean, how does Bush actually describe the "God said" part?

Sorry to be in a hurry. It may seem as if I'm all political and in this thread I'm not. I just think it's fascinating and should be looked at. 😀

RE: Alternative view on terrorism

To summarise, a lady is on trial for murdering her 3 children by throwing off a bridge, and is claiming that god told her to. Everyone automatically is made to assume wack job.

But as a byline there is a link to another story which is "God told me to invade
Iraq." Bush says....

RE: Alternative view on terrorism

I find it funny that a lot of people are very sceptical of so called conspiracy theories, but do actually belive everything in the news front to be true.

It is a nice idea that there would be just truthful news but these days because of such competition over who sells most newspapers and who gets most viewers on their news has made the media untrustworthy.
Not all news are false of course, but quite often it seems that facts are not checked because it is more important to have a good loop story, and it has to be aired before someone else has a chance.

But what I find refreshing is that quite a lot of people (at least in this forum) seem to be aware of this and take things with a pinch of salt so to speak.

I think it is a good idea to have a thread that points out the discrepancies, this way we canbe a little more aware of what is really going on.....and make our minds up after getting more information that the mainstream lets us have.

I am also in a bit of a rush, so just wanted to wish everyone a lovely Xmas!

I totally agree with that. I find it amusing that some of the strongest prononents (even of these forums) of theory X or theory Y in terms of 9/11 and government cover ups and so on are some who stand strong that Global warming is a dire issue. I have already voiced my thoughts on that subject so I won't again, but either you believe everything that you are fed or you believe nothing. The source is the same.Do your own research. The internet is an awesome tool for you to exercise your gray matter. Sure those of us that do are 'cranks' who don't care about the planet; our country; democracy...

On a side note does it wind anyone else up that if you are an American government official that you must wear an american flag pin on your lapel or you aren't patriotic?

RE: Alternative view on terrorism

On believing the media, the recent TV programme on David Icke (discussed in the Reviews section) had, I must admit, some very pithy moments from him. One was where he emulated a TV anchorman outside Westminster giving "the news". Since he did have a career as a journalist and with TV, he simply stated the actual process, which I suppose we all knew in the back of our heads anyway ...

A government "official" will be told "what is happening", he then tells this to the media within Westminster, TV or other journalists rush out to where their cameras are waiting, and they then broadcast "the true news" to us all - whether it's on BBC, ITV, Sky, CNN, whatever. TV news, at least from Westminster,is therefore effectively whatever the government would like us to believe. They just feed it to us, and the journalists rarely do any independent research. It seems obvious, but it's the way he said it. (It's the way he tells 'em.)

The same process applied to 9/11, our 7/7, etc.
